Job Description

The Opportunity:

Mattel China is currently seeking a Key Account Manager to join China Sales Team to build and execute Mattel strategic joint business plans with target China key accounts by aligning with internal functional teams to drive profitable growth in order to achieve company sales, brand, margin and OI targets.

What Your Impact Will Be:

Maximize Sales & Profit:

  • Partner with Marketing/Omni Channel Marketing to develop and execute brand and distribution priority plans to achieve target brand exposure in store and on line 
  • Work with marketing to develop and execute meaningful tailormade campaigns to deliver scale, POS growth and improved ROI by account by brand and on key occasions 
  • Partner with Omni Channel Marketing to develop and execute on line and O2O growth plans
  • Partner with Franchise management team to develop appropriate licensing opportunities
  • Carry out pre and post activity evaluation for campaigns/key events
  • Monitor sales trends, identify and report on opportunities and risks
  • Work with Finance on account pricing and account P&L development and management
  • Undertake annual contract/rebate negotiations as required to achieve win/win solutions and improve Mattel profitability
  • Manage investment budgets within targeted levels and AR for targeted accounts

Customer Service:

  • Build and maintain positive, pro-active and effective business relationships with account contacts and internal functions 
  • Undertake regular buyer meetings in line with clear shared objectives and follow up
  • Liaise with internal operations and customer Service teams to effectively manage inventory and supply chain efficiencies
  • Be the internal customer “expert”. Represent the customers voice within Mattel


  • Work with the S+OP team to provide accurate monthly sales forecast against business plans and marketing priority programs
  • Set up and maintain up-to-date sales forecasts against internal deadlines


What We’re Looking For:

  • University degree in Marketing or Business Management or other business-related discipline
  • 5-8 years experience in Sales and Customer Marketing within FMCG industry preferably in Toys or FMCG environment
  • Experience in developing strategic account/business plans and customer focused solutions  
  • Results driven, organized and team oriented
  • Excellent communication, presentation, influencing, negotiation and interpersonal skills across functions and levels
  • Strong business acumen and commercial judgement
  • Data driven with strong command of Excel and Power-point skills
  • Excellent proficiency in written and spoken English
