The Team:  The Marketing Manager – Loyalty and Promotions position is part of the American Girl marketing team located at Mattel’s El Segundo, CA campus.

Job Description

The Opportunity: The Marketing Manager – Loyalty and Promotions role is responsible for leading the day to day  Loyalty and Promotions programs for American Girl ensuring an omni-channel approach across all activations.  Working with the Director of Marketing and VP on the strategies, this role will oversee the day-to-day execution of the Loyalty and Promotions campaigns, the Manager will partner closely with a cross-functional team to drive business KPIs.

What Your Impact Will Be: 

Loyalty

  • Manage the ongoing evaluation and optimization of the program to drive enrollment, engagement, and retention for AG Rewards(tm)
  • Strategize with agency and cross-functional team members to identify opportunities and workstreams that will continue to support the loyalty program as a topline sales driver for American Girl
  • Integrate opportunities to drive enrollment and engagement into the larger promotional plan
  • Champion projects that help elevate the program as a best in class loyalty program representing a premium brand
  • Monitor performance of key KPIs such as member enrollment, AOV, lifetime customer value, active buyers, retention rate, and certificate redemption
  • Develop ongoing test and learn opportunities to refine the loyalty playbook based on key learnings
  • Lead weekly initiative meetings with agency and cross-functional team members

Promotions

  • Work with senior team to develop  the omni-channel promotional strategic framework
  • Manage day to day activities and project management
  • Responsible for yearly promotional planning while continuously optimizing the calendar on a quarterly, weekly, and sometimes daily basis based on evolving business needs and competitive landscape
  • Work with cross-functional teams including Brand Marketing, Forecasting, Supply Planning, Finance, Analytics and Customer Service to execute promotions
  • Identify promotional objectives, set KPIs and track performance including ROI of promotional programs
  • Communicate promotional plans to channel marketing leads to execute consumer communication across stores, ecommerce, and digital channels including social, email and affiliate marketing programs.
  • Partner with Analytics team deliver weekly insights on promotional performance across planned promotions and seasonal liquidation
  • Work with Forecasting and Sales team to reduce inventory as needed through external channels.

Qualifications

What We’re Looking For: 

  • 8-10 years of experience working in multi-channel Retail or Consumer Products industry, where CRM driven cross-channel planning, execution, budgeting and analysis are essential
  • The ideal candidate will have 3-4 year’s experience working across Loyalty and/or Promotions in retail or fashion industry preferred.
  • Must be nimble and be able to shift quickly to adapt to business priorities
  • Proficiency in developing strategic plans and managing large-scale marketing projects
  • Strong cross-functional skills including collaboration, problem-solving, negotiation and influencing key stakeholders both internal and external
  • Experience collaborating with IT, Product Management, channel marketers, creative, and UX teams to ensure success of programs
  • Team Leader who can handle the challenge of coordinating a multi-channel, cross functional teams on multiple accounts and/or initiatives.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.  Strong oral presentation skills and ability to adapt communication as appropriate for different levels of management and customer audiences. 
  • Strategic and creative thinker with the ability to challenge effectively.
  • Highly analytical with the ability to interpret data and insights.
