The AWS Executive Speaker Program is looking for a Senior Leader of the team. The Senior Leader will manage a team of experienced communications managers in delivering engaging customer stories that educate and influence the awareness, adoption, and usage of AWS services. The ideal candidate is passionate about cloud technology, can easily translate technical subject matter into compelling narratives, and coach speakers to present themselves and their companies in the best light possible. Strong executive presence is critical, as this team works with top executives within AWS, as well as C-suite leaders of our customers. The Leader must be an experienced people manager, able to both drive a vision for the program, while rolling up his/her sleeves to execute the best possible events.

There is a strong preference for this position to be in Seattle or Arlington, VA, but open to these additional locations: Any AWS US corp office location. Relocation offered from within the US to any of these locations only.

Key job responsibilities
-Manage a team of experience communications professionals to execute exceptional customer stories at events.
-Partner with AWS sales, marketing, and leadership teams to develop mechanisms and criteria to source, vet, and approve customer speakers
-Work with C-Suite customers to translate their use cases into compelling stories that highlight how AWS is enabling business transformation and customer success.
-Coach customer speakers on how to effectively deliver presentations at in-person and online events.
-Manage agency resources to develop creative visuals in support of each customer’s story

About the team
The AWS Executive Speaker Program supports the vetting, selection, and preparation of customer speakers for inclusion in the most high-profile AWS keynotes at events such as AWS re:Invent, Global Summits, and AWS re:Inforce. To support AWS main stage keynote opportunities, the team provides guidance on content development and delivers speaker coaching for both AWS executives and customer speakers.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

-Bachelors degree in communications, PR, marketing, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
-12 years of communications, speech-writing or content development experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

-Experience managing high-performing teams.
-Experience working with/for senior executives.
-10 years of external executive communications or content development experience
-Experience writing and editing narrative, scripts, and presentations
-Self-starter with strong bias for action who is comfortable working autonomously.
-Ability to build strong working relationship across key stakeholder groups, including keynote writers, PR, account managers, external vendors, and senior business leaders.
-Excellent judgement in high profile, high-pressure environments.

-Experience managing complex, high profile projects
