Business Intelligence Engineer, SPS Pricing Finance, SPS Finance (Pricing)

Job summary
Pricing Finance supports the systems and teams that manage Amazon’s pricing strategies and price perception. This includes Retail systems that set prices for Amazon offers, 3rd Party Pricing tools to help sellers manage prices for their Amazon listings. As finance partners, we are focused on driving controllership in these areas and providing insight into broader trends we are observing in the Pricing space.

As a Business Intelligence Engineer, you will work with our Finance team and partner with the business to create automated and scalable analytical tools that will ultimately be critical in driving the growth and profitability of the business. This includes building the infrastructure for regular reporting on business performance, building insights into various pricing related programs, and deep diving the assumptions behind each program to test our initial hypotheses and assumptions. You will leverage the data to provide key data-driven insights, enable new opportunities, and innovate on behalf of our business customers.

Your responsibilities will include:
• Owning the core reporting infrastructure and ensuring accuracy, integrity, and reliability
• Generating actionable insights through the development of metrics, dashboards and deep dive analyses
• Serving as a technical, business-metrics specialist and insight provider in the organization
• Acting as a key interface between our business customers and technical divisions

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• BA/BS degree in Engineering, Statistics, Computer Science, Operations Research, Business Analytics, Information Systems or related field
• 3+ years of relevant work experience in a role requiring application of analytic skills to integrate data into operational planning or advanced degree
• Experience building self-service reporting solutions using business intelligence software
• Advanced knowledge of SQL and ETL jobs
• Advanced understanding and experience working with data warehousing, data quality
• Recent experience applying visualization tools such as, Tableau, AWS QuickSight
• Recent experience implementing basic software solutions to automate data source, visualization and/or data modeling application
• Customer focus and professional demeanor
• Ability to complete projects timely, accurately and with strong attention to detail, with continuous communication of progress updates to stakeholders

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• A work ethic based on a strong desire to exceed expectations
• Programming experience in Python, Java, C++ or other language
• Experience with AWS Redshift, S3 , Quicksight
• Experience in data science and tools such as R.
• Experience conducting large scale data analysis to support business decision making
• Strong verbal/written communication and data presentation skills, including an ability to effectively communicate with both business and technical teams
• Ability to solve complex problems quantitatively and develop clear, data-driven business recommendations
• Experience leading cross-functional projects with business and technical teams
• Organizational skill and an operations mindset
• An ability and interest in working in a fast-paced and rapidly-changing environment
