We are looking for someone to join the global Personal Systems Services team as a Manager in the Consumer Services Product Management to help HP create technology that makes life better for everyone, everywhere.

The Opportunity

The Personal Systems Services team is seeking an experienced leader to define and execute a strategy to drive significant growth in the Consumer Services business. The services business is at an inflection point in terms of business growth and strategic relevance as it drives the transformation of Personal Systems to a higher mix of recurring revenue business. Growing Consumer Services is one of the top strategic priorities for PS Services and is a critical success factor in generating future revenue growth and profit for HP. Consumer Services has significant opportunity for innovation across portfolio, Route-To-Market, and new business models. While the business currently has a broad portfolio of break-fix attach services, focus is on driving innovative SW-led services in areas like device performance optimization, productivity, gaming, and collaboration. Beyond portfolio expansion, there are also opportunities for innovation in designing new business models and optimizing RTMs (e.g., Online shopping, HP Support Agent) so customers can easily consume and access these services.

To capitalize on the growth opportunity in Consumer Services, we seek a strong person to lead the product management team. This person lead will lead the product management function and establish rigor, process, and structure for the team by instilling the fundamentals of product management from target audience definition, assessing the needs and pain points of customers, ideating and defining products, as well as building and driving the end to end product management process for the Consumer Services and Solutions team. To address key opportunities for consumers, we seek a strong leader that brings a key focus on “outside-in” insights and a proven track record of building a strong organizational foundation based on customer, channel, competitive, and market insights. In addition, the ideal candidate will have experience in leading a high-performance team, building and executing on a long-term strategy, driving key initiatives across a complex organization, and working through and understanding complex end to end systems/processes/tools.

How you will make an impact:

  • Lead a growing team of product and portfolio managers
  • Drive key customer, market, and competitive insights into the organization to guide strategy and portfolio plans
  • Develop and execute the road map focused on multi-year growth strategy for Consumer Services
  • Communicate plans effectively across all levels of the organization, including the executive level
  • Engage effectively with key business partners and other organizations to drive business results for the overall category and individual service opportunities
  • Provide thought leadership within Lifecycle Services and more broadly across the PS Services organization
  • Effectively engage with key HP partners – Hardware, Category, Business Development, Supply Chain, Customer Support, Services Platform, Software, Hardware, etc…to lead initiatives and execute on plans
  • Identify opportunities to address roadblocks and drive growth through strategic alliances with key partners
  • Assigns responsibilities, provides direction, leadership, and coaching, removes barriers as needed to enable direct reports to execute their roles and achieve objectives and goals.
  • Creates an inclusive and diverse work environment that is conducive to individual growth, high performance, is challenging and rewarding.
  • Acts as mentor to individual contributors in other teams
  • Effectively participate in initiatives to enhance the PS Services work environment and drive diversity/inclusion.

Education and Experience Required:

  • 10+ years to demonstrate experience in Product Development/Strategy/Management
  • Established management background of high performing individual contributors (people management).
  • Bachelors degree or equivalent required and Master’s level preferred
  • Demonstrated strategic leadership in product design or current product management.
  • Demonstrated experience working with selling partners, R&D or customers.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Consumer product experience preferred.
  • Excellent market knowledge and intellectual curiosity about the consumer and their needs.
  • Need broad knowledge of tools to assess and learn competitive market dynamics, business models, business strategies and processes.
  • Demonstrate broad knowledge of corporate organization and policies, and cross functional roles and objectives.
  • Strong skills in management of people and business relationships, knowledge in organizational design and planning, problem solving, managing individual and team productivity and dynamics, and excellent communication, and negotiation and influencing skills in cross-functional teams.
  • Must have a solid understanding of business management principles, financial expertise and strategic planning methods.
  • Recognized as authority in their area of expertise. Demonstrated ability to provide thought leadership and drive change across functions. Very strong leadership, people and business management skills.
  • More frequent influence at cross-functionally and on executive level.
