Executive Office

The Executive Office plays an integral role in setting and advancing Goldman Sachs’ corporate strategy, and in preserving the firm’s distinctive culture. We are responsible for safeguarding the firm’s relationship with alumni, clients, shareholders, policy makers, and the broader public, while ensuring that our own people remain informed about the firm’s evolving priorities. We also partner with the businesses to source high-impact opportunities in line with the firm’s social and sustainability agendas.

Summary

The Office of Alumni Relations (OAR) was established in 2005 to strengthen the firm’s relationships with alumni, promote the Goldman Sachs brand and culture, enhance business development and support recruiting. The team maintains over 115,000 alumni in its database. Nearly 70% of the total alumni population, are connected to the Alumni Network and receive regulator communications. Alumni can also register on the Alumni Network website, which allows them to connect with each other, view career opportunities and upcoming event information and stay up to date with Goldman Sachs and alumni news. The Office of Alumni Relations can help groups maintain relationships with alumni by organizing events, promoting career opportunities and developing other initiatives.

Principal Responsibilities

  • Track, update and maintain information on alumni activity within the Alumni Relations portal
  • Provide alumni lists to internal and external stakehoders upon request
  • Complete reporting and analysis of Alumni Network metrics
  • Identify alumni to highlight for regular series about alumni activity
  • Assist with creation and dissemination of regular email communications
  • Assist in management of Alumni Relations hosted events, including guest list curation, invitations and attendance management
  • Assist with managing vendor relationships and technology risk management for vendor platforms
  • Assist with updating content on the Alumni Network website
  • Assist with technology-related projects
  • Maintain a list of alumni who sit on high-profile boards
  • Manage alumni client service inquiries
  • Assist with ad-hoc alumni-related requests that may arise

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and 3+ years of experience, preferably in communications, marketing or in an alumni relations role
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail
  • Experience and interest in working with, analyzing, organizing and presenting data
  • Experience with Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Photoshop and Adobe
  • Experience with event management
  • Experience with email marketing
  • Experience with CRM databases such as Salesforce
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Collaborative, with the ability to work well on a small team
  • Excellent judgment and high degree of discretion Ability to maintain high standards, meet deadlines, and work well under pressure
  • Ability to interact and build relationships with people across the firm
