Primary Responsibilities:

  • Serve as senior, day to day client management and liaison for Optum’s De-Identified Data Workspace (ODDW)
  • Client centricity: Leads core client relationships and interactions for assigned clients, including academic, health systems, third parties and mid-small Life Science (LS) clients operating exclusively through Optum’s cloud-based De-identified Data Workspace (ODDW). Supports the on-boarding and transition of LS data asset users into ODDW. Supports with ODDW Premier Third-Party client relationships and interactions. Collaborates with ODDW Business, Product and Internal Service Support Teams to develop and execute plans to proactively drive client service related to ODDW. Seeks opportunities to maximize client value through positive and expanded ODDW experiences, with the primary aim of supporting existing client growth and renewals. Creates individual client on-boarding plans for implementation upon license or data asset access agreement execution. Recommends and advocates for Workbench capabilities and features needed by individual and multiple clients to support ODDW success.
  • Supports growth: Identifies potential opportunities for expanded clients and client relationships. Works in conjunction with ODDW leaders to provide key inputs into overall client strategy and with business development. Researches and shares knowledge and experience in data assets and cloud environments. Facilitating internal and external discussions, serves as advocate for ODDW as a capability and tool going to meet clients beyond data licensing arrangements, demonstrating ODDW features and benefits, as applicable. Collaborates with ODDW Team on Premier Third Party “Bring your own environment” plans to maximize ODDW success. Works across the organization to integrate ODDW offerings into those for targeted client groups. Supports CS Life Science team, engaging in ODDW data activities as needed by individual clients’ third-party projects or cohort level client activities.
  • Data and analytical knowledge: Possesses a deep understandings of claims and clinical health care data including the core LS data assets to help transform – via a consultative approach – how clients can effectively utilize LS data and data tools in ODDW to advance their business goals. Shares knowledge and expertise on data linking and applies SOPs to maximize client value and use of linked datasets Create and manage client reports to create analytics demonstrating client value and return on investment (ROI).
  • Solid communicator: Provides independent support to clients, including presentations on ODDW capabilities, reporting, advanced features, and supporting group discussions on data, brings growing industry experience to effectively contextualize creative approaches to analytics where appropriate; fluidly facilitate basic product orientations of LS data and pan LS product offerings, including live Q&A on ODDW, data assets, training presentations; Able to reach out directly to members to call/prompt on NPS responses.
  • Problem-solver: Focused on broader operational improvements that impact more efficient and , as appropriate expanded ODDW operations, including collateral development, FAQs, data explainers, etc. Able to identify gaps in current client-facing offerings, either from a product or service standpoint and feed back to the broader business; coordinates internally to create new resources/solutions where applicable
  • Support client relationships: listen, understand, and articulate client needs
  • Interface with clients and develop strong client-Optum relationships to achieve desired objectives
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for ODDW and Optum’s data assets in tolopartnerships
  • Facilitate strategy and planning sessions with clients to determine how Optum’s data linking and data partnerships can be leveraged to meet internal and external clients’ needs related to linked data assets key clinical and business needs
  • Partner with internal sales team and other client solutions teams to prioritize opportunities requiring pre-sales analytic efforts related to ODDW
  • Develop use case studies and business proposals to support client and business needs
  • Partner with analytic teams to accurately define project objectives and determine methods for fulfilling objectives; establish and communicate timelines to all impacted parties, including potential delays
  • Communicate and evaluate client feedback in collaboration with Optum’s ODDW product development team to improve and advance products and processes
  • Predict emerging client needs and participate in the development of innovative solutions to meet those needs

Estimated time allocation:

  • 80% management of existing clients/supporting ODDW Team, CS Team and BD
  • 20% internal support development of resources, engaging with other stakeholders to support clients

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of professional experience or a Graduate degree with 3+ years of professional experience
  • 3+ years of experience supporting client engagements or large projects for internal customers, preferably in the life sciences industry
  • Experience leveraging patient-level healthcare data (claims, EHR, etc.) to support commercially oriented business questions such as forecasting and segmentation
  • Experience in healthcare data or related project management
  • Excellent writing and presentation skills
  • Able to travel up to 30%
  • Full COVID-19 vaccination is an essential requirement of this role. Candidates located in states that mandate COVID-19 booster doses must also comply with those state requirements. Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree (MBA, MS, PhD)
  • Life sciences industry, healthcare field, or management consulting experience
  • Experience developing new business and identifying add-on work
  • Demonstrated ability to consult with clients on how to effectively use data to achieve business objectives

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $70,000 to $140,000. The salary range for Connecticut/Nevada residents is $70,000 to $140,000. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
