Manager of Technology Finance

Position Purpose:
The Manager of Technology Finance will be expected to provide total financial leadership, direction and analysis to the IT Infrastructure team. As a member of the strategic leadership team for the function, the leader of Finance will play a key role in driving functional metrics, controlling costs, and work closely with the finance leadership, in order to achieve business goals and create shareholder value. The ideal candidate is able to thrive in a rapidly changing, dynamic environment and leverage foundational business, technology, and finance knowledge to identify problems/opportunities, take ownership, collaborate with teammates, develop solutions, and present strategies to leadership.

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Strategic Analysis/Problem Solving – Works to fully understand business; identify and implement process and organizational improvements. Plans and ensures execution of department objectives. Participates in preparation of the annual budget.
  • Reviews monthly metrics to ensure goals are met. Conduct financial planning for function and make appropriate recommendations.
  • Leads, plans, and coordinates work teams in an efficient manner to effectively perform any financial function and activity; utilizes metrics to track performance and manage workload. Ensures operational processes and procedures are compliant and consistent with established policies.
  • Drive key functional financial metrics.
  • Project Management- Develops and supports a strategic alliance with business partners. Participates in cross-functional activities focused on solving business issues and enhancing our competitive advantage. Facilitates cross-functional communication with other areas of the business including but not limited to Finance, Human Resources, Real Estate, Operations, and Information Technology

Major Tasks, Responsibilities & Key Accountabilities:

Nature and Scope:
Typically reports to a Director level
This position has no direct reports.

Environmental Job Requirements:
Environment: Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
Travel: Typically requires overnight travel 5% to 20% of the time.

Standard Minimum Qualifications:
Must be eighteen years of age or older.
Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.

Education Required:

The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor’s degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.

Years of Relevant Work Experience: 5 years

Physical Requirements:
Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • The typical candidate has 5-10 years of related experience in Finance and/or Technology.
  • Experience managing Technology portfolios and/or Infrastructure initiatives
  • Ability to thrive in a rapidly changing, dynamic environment.
  • Ability to analyze complex issues and apply frameworks to solve problems while keeping the “big picture” in mind.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and ability to operate in a team environment.
  • Foundational knowledge and/or experience with modern finance, technology, and/or business topics.
  • Passion for taking ownership of projects and tasks and leading initiatives through to results; strong project management skills.
  • Experience interacting with business leaders across the organization.
  • Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, Economics or equivalent.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Competencies:

  • Knowledge of accounting principles and practicies, analysis and reporting of financial data.
  • Knowledge of business and mgmt. Principles involved in strategic planning and resource allocation.
  • Project management skills; ability to prioritize and mult-task effectively.
  • Judgment and decision-making skills; considering relative costs, benefits of potential actions.
