We aim to be your trusted partner and the first choice for your technological challengesPosition: Deputy System Director – Railway sectorLocation: Brussels, Belgium (Hybrid: 2 days per week in the office)Languages Required: Fluency in both French and EnglishRole Overview:We are seeking a skilled and experienced Deputy System Director to play a key role in the strategic and technical evolution of cutting-edge railway signaling systems. This position involves shaping, implementing, and managing both hardware and software system architectures.Technical and Soft Skills:

• Education: Master’s degree in Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related disciplines.
• Certifications: A Ph.D. or INCOSE certification is a plus.
• Experience: A minimum of 15 years in systems design, with proven leadership experience.
• Technical Skills:

Expertise in model-based systems engineering and Agile methodologiesExperience with TDD, CI/CD, and version control with Git.Expertise in embedded systems for rolling stock and familiarity with ERTMS is highly desirable.

• Sector of activity: Prior experience within the railway sector is essential.

Responsabilities:

• System Design & Architecture: Co-lead the design of integrated hardware and software systems, ensuring alignment with business objectives and industry best practices.
• Strategic Roadmap Development: Guide the development of system design and technical roadmaps, ensuring the delivery of high-quality solutions while proactively managing any corrective measures.
• Model-Based Systems Engineering: Oversee application modeling processes, maintaining rigorous quality standards and addressing challenges swiftly.
• Cross-Department Collaboration: Work closely with verification, validation, and project management teams to ensure all technical requirements are met within the agreed timelines.
• Technology Selection & Validation: Evaluate and select appropriate technology stacks, ensuring their compliance with established specifications and requirements.
