Job summary
The Amazon Gift Card business is a rapidly growing, multi-billion dollar business that contributes significantly to Amazon’s success and growth. The Gift Card team is responsible for creating and launching Gift Card and Stored Value products sold globally through a variety of channels, including the Amazon website, Amazon physical stores, corporate sales, brick and mortar (B&M) retail stores, and other partnerships. We are looking for a Senior Business Manager to help us expand and develop Amazon’s Gift Card business within Amazon physical stores and B&M partners.

The Senior Business Manager builds the Amazon Gift Card businesses (Point of Sale, Amazon Cash, Pin on Receipt) by developing and maintaining key relationships with internal physical stores teams and external distributors and their portfolios of offline retailers across the U.S. and Canada.

You will collaborate with internal and external cross functional teams, spanning product management, operations, engineering, customer service, finance, accounting, tax, legal and transaction risk/fraud management. You will assess business needs and develop and execute against a growth strategy, helping (i) define the optimal promotional calendar and most effective marketing campaigns across multiple retail partners, (ii) expand new self-use products in line with local market preferences, (iii) draw insights from analyses of marketing campaigns and other growth efforts to drive increased efficacy, including by optimizing assortment and negotiating expanded placements (iv) support gift card production and inventory control, and (v) ensure best-in-class customer experience and support.

This is a senior, individual contributor role that has high visibility within a dynamic, exciting team. Success in this position will require strong leadership skills, sound business acumen, excellent marketing fundamentals, first-rate analytical capabilities, superb time management skills and “big idea” creativity to provide Amazon customers “the right Gift Card product, when and where they need it”.

Key job responsibilities

  • Account & Relationship Management: Act as the main point of contact for a key distribution partner and its associated retailers, supporting all aspects of the Amazon Gift Card business within its portfolio, including demand generation, product placements, marketing promotions, customer experience and customer service.
  • Strategic Planning & Analysis: Help define the right product strategy within the distributor’s retail accounts and draw insights from all marketing and sales activities across the portfolio to inform demand and margin growth efforts.
  • Business Insights & Trends: leverage sub-channels, weekly / monthly reporting to understand the trends of the business and keeping “ears to the ground” on consumer trends. Being able to double-click in to performance at partner and retailer level.
  • Process Improvement: Drive continuous process improvement to scale this growing category.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ years’ experience in Vendor Management / Account Management / Business Development / Product Marketing, developing growth strategies, obtaining buy-in from stakeholders and successfully implementing and demonstrating high levels of personal accountability.
  • Proven analytical and quantitative skills with demonstrated ability to manage the business through input and output metrics.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ability to thrive in an ambiguous sales environment, applying rigor and solid judgment to make the right decisions.
  • Ability to handle the ‘hands-on’ day-to-day management of tasks, resolution of problems and issues and experience in implementing action plans to meet objectives.
  • Strong Excel skills, with deep experience in demand forecasting and marketing ROI analysis.
  • Prior experience launching new consumer-facing products in a retail environment.

The pay range for this position in Colorado is $113,100 – 160,000/yr; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A sign-on bonus and restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
