The AWS User Experience Products & Platform team is responsible for products that enable AWS users to manage their applications and infrastructure on AWS. Our mission is to deliver an effective, and loved user experience that makes it easy for all users to discover, learn, and build on AWS. Today, we own the AWS Management Console, the AWS Console Mobile App, the AWS Chatbot, and the User Experience Platform used by 175+ AWS service teams to develop and deliver their user experience across multiple channels (web, mobile, chat).
The AWS User Experience Products & Platform team is a multi-disciplinary team comprising members from different areas – UX Research, UX Design, User Insights & Analytics, Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing, Secure/Available/Scalable (at AWS scale) services, and Web/Mobile/Conversational User Interfaces. The AWS Console Experiences team is looking for a highly passionate and capable Senior Front-End Engineer. As the primary gateway into the AWS experience, it is our team’s job to help customers find what they need to complete their goals quickly and efficiently. AWS Console will be evolving in the coming months to allow AWS teams and customers to personalize experiences, creating a cockpit-style dashboard to allow AWS customers to determine service status easily and to react quickly. As a senior engineer in the team, you will have end-to-end responsibility for designing and implementing a modern, dynamic front-end framework that empowers all AWS consoles to create and share customer-specific data and content. The AWS Platform team sustains over 750 million transactions per second.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of software development experience
- Computer Science fundamentals in object-oriented design, data structures and algorithms
- Excellence in technical communication with peers and non-technical cohorts
- 5+ years of experience working with modern client side web development technologies:
- HTML5 and Web Standards
- Cascading Style Sheets (including CSS Variables, SASS, LESS, etc)
- Javascript (React, Angular, Ember, Polymer, vanilla, etc)
– 3+ years of experience in one modern programming language such as Java, C++ or Python
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- – Master’s Degree or equivalent experience
- Strong and creative problem-solving abilities
- Experience with Agile and Scrum methodologies
- Experience with WCAG 2.0 Accessibility Guidelines
- Experience with Web Component technologies (Custom Elements, Shadow DOM, ES Modules)
- Passion for simplicity and building highly leveraged, reusable software platforms, components, and APIs
- Knowledge of professional software engineering practices & best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
- Excellence in technical communication with peers and non-technical cohorts
