The Alexa Privacy Team is looking for an experienced Business Intelligence Engineer to lead defining, structuring, and building BI solutions for Alexa Privacy Experiences. This role will have an enormous opportunity to impact customer experience and influence our product roadmap. They will drive all parts of the BI life-cycle, including defining solutions and owning strategic analysis to drive business decisions.

This leader should have extensive experience in analytics and data engineering and have the aptitude to incorporate new approaches and methodologies while dealing with ambiguities. They will set the vision, strategy, and roadmap, and work alongside with stakeholders in the organization to make it happen. They know and love working with business intelligence tools, can model multidimensional datasets, and are able to create and maintain efficient & automated processes. They should have a demonstrated ability to think strategically and analytically about business, product, and technical challenges, and to build and communicate compelling value propositions, and work across the organization to achieve consensus. This role requires a strong passion for customers, a high level of comfort navigating ambiguity, and a keen sense of ownership and drive to deliver results.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science/Statistics/Engineering
• 4+ years of relevant experience one of the following areas: Data engineering, business intelligence or business analytics.
• Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools
• Advanced skills in SQL, ETL, Data Warehouse solutions and databases
• Proficient with a scripting language (e.g SQL, Python, R etc.) for data manipulation, analyzing and modeling data
• Ability to distill complex customer requirements into problem definitions, dealing with ambiguity and competing objectives and performing the analysis to drive insights
• Experience building measures and metrics, and developing reporting solutions
• Experience using Cloud Storage and Computing technologies such as AWS Redshift, S3, Hadoop, etc.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Master’s degree or higher in Computer Science/Statistics/Engineering
• 5+ years of experience as a Data Engineer, BI Engineer, Business/Financial Analyst or Systems Analyst in a company with large, complex data sources.
• Fluency with statistical analytics and programming languages such as R, Python, Ruby, etc.
• Experience building/operating highly available, distributed systems of data extraction, ingestion, and processing of large data sets
• Experience leading a BI Center of Excellence is a plus.
• Experience with scripting tools like Python is a strong plus.
• Experience in BI/DW as a change leader providing strategic research, recommendations, and implementations.
• Experience using Linux/UNIX to process large data sets.
• Expert-level proficiency in writing complex, highly-optimized SQL queries across large datasets.
• Demonstrated ability in building and managing Business intelligence solutions.
• Ability to manage competing priorities simultaneously and drive projects to completion.
• Strong customer engagement experience.
