Through integration and collaboration, we’re building a health system underpinned by partnership, equity, sustainability, whānau-centred care, and excellence.He Kōrero mō te tūranga – About the RoleAn opportunity exists for an exceptional administrator to join the Surgical Scheduling Team based at Whakatāne Hospital as a Surgical Scheduler/Administrator.The main purpose of this position is to schedule patients appropriately for clinic appointments and surgery at Tauranga or Whakatāne Hospital in line with the Ministry of Health requirements.This role requires excellent administrative skills, attention to detail and accuracy, the ability to problem solve and think outside the box. It is an important part of a team who work closely together and with multiple stakeholders across Hauora a Toi Bay of Plenty. It will also require a high level of flexibility as it will be providing support across the whole surgical scheduling team as required.This role is covered by PSA National Health Administration Collective Agreement Salary Band 5 – $74,090 to $81,864 (full-time equivalent).About you

  • Minimum of 3 years demonstrated administration experience
  • Comprehensive knowledge of patient information systems
  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written
  • High level of attention to detail and well-developed interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organisation and customer service skills
  • Competency with te ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth
  • Experience in projects / initiatives which give effect to Te Tiriti principals and frameworks, and the application of Mātauranga Māori and Kaupapa Māori approaches, particularly as they apply in healthcare settings.
