- Monitor the postgraduate nursing education programme
- Oversee postgraduate budget
- In consultation, set postgraduate nursing funding priorities
- Collaborate with the Directors of Nursing and other senior nursing leaders
- Maintain clear and transparent processes for PDN funding, application priorities, application process, allocation and payment processes
- Support Southern Nursing Workforce plan and initiatives
- Support and provide cover for the PDRP Coordinator when required
- Liaise with local education providers to ensure programmes meet the regional service needs
About PDRP:
- Support staff to achieve Professional Development and Recognition Programme (PDRP) requirements
- Identify advancements in nursing/midwifery knowledge, relevant trends, and changes in best practice for nurses/midwives
- Collaborate with senior nursing/midwifery staff and multidisciplinary teams and supports changes to practice when indicated
- Identify relevant education, professional development activities

The PDU is home to approximately 30 educators and coordinators all of whom deliver and facilitate educational opportunities within their designated areas as well as more broadly across the organisation. The team is close knit and supportive; always willing to lend a hand, develop new skills and initiatives and collaborate in order to ensure our healthcare environment provides the best quality, safety and patient/client experience with regard to patient care.About you:
- Registration with NZ nursing council and a current APC
- Significant and recent nursing experience
- A personal commitment to ongoing learning and development including attainment and maintenance of PDRP (minimum Proficient)
- Ideally already a current PDRP Assessor
- Competency with te ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth
- Experience in projects/initiatives which give effect to Te Tiriti principals and frameworks, and the application of Mātauranga Māori and Kaupapa Māori approaches, particularly as they apply in healthcare settings
