Job description: is a research unit at the Department of Architecture of ETH Zurich, scientifically located at the interface of architecture and the social sciences. Our interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary research projects focus on advancing sustainable and inclusive housing, neighbourhoods, and communities.Project backgroundThe successful candidate will contribute to developing new research projects focused on the connection between housing, architecture and societal questions. He/she/they will also participate it the ongoing Horizon 2020 research project . In addition, the selected candidate will provide inputs to lecture series and the design studios led by ETH Wohnforum – ETH CASE Board members Prof. Elli Mosayebi and Prof. Maria Conen at the ETH Department of Architecture.Job description

  • Collaborate at all stages in developing and implementing new research projects, including writing project proposals, planning and conducting bibliographic research, collecting qualitative and quantitative data, publishing findings, and disseminating results
  • Participate in educational activities within the Department of Architecture
  • Engage in the preparation and participation of workshops involving a wide range of stakeholdes
  • Particiate in the organisation of national and international conferences
  • Give presentations at national and international conferences
  • Write and co-author scientific publication and policy briefs

Profile

  • PhD in architecture, urban planning, social geography or related fields
  • PhD thesis and publications addressing topics pertinent to the core domains of urban and housing studies
  • Extensive experience in qualitative research methods, social and spatial analysis, along with basic knowledge in quantitative methods of data collection and analysis
  • Creativeness and demonstrated ability in the acquisition of research projects
  • Proven capacity to work effectively in an interdisciplinary team as well as independently
  • Interest in and ability to engage with different groups of people, including those outside the academic field
  • Excellent communication skills and proficiency in both German and English
