Job description: Job DescriptionA Lecturer of GUtech, Oman is expected to be able to achieve the following outcomes:

• High levels of student achievement and satisfaction in courses taught by the

lecturer * Well-delivered lectures, tutorials, laboratories and/or other forms of interactions with students, which demonstrate cultural awareness and corresponding pedagogy

• Evidence of implementing student-centered approaches to learning and reflective practices in own teaching
• Identify and provide academic support to students who need them with individualized plans
• Commitment to continuous professional development and evidence of implementing them in own teaching
• Contributions to the promotion of a culture of excellence by implementing quality assurance processes
• Evidence of promoting the values of the University, especially multicultural awareness and ethical practices
• Contributions to knowledge transfer with the wider community
• Other tasks, as might be assigned from time to time by the University and as required to meet the requirements of the post such as

– plan, prepare and deliver specialised courses for external stakeholders– represent GUbridge on national and international platforms– develop bespoke learning materialsQualifications

• Master’s degree in mathematics or

• Bachelor’s degree (B.Ed., BSc Major in Math, Mathematical Science, Data and Statistics.

• Good IT Skills
• Minimum of 3 years of teaching experience in higher educational institutions. Prior experience in the Middle East is desirable, but not compulsory.

RequirementsThe ideal candidate will

• demonstrate initiative; have excellent knowledge in delivering the discipline.
• help students cultivate the ability to solve math-related problems.
• be knowledgeable about accepted best practices in higher education.
• be experienced in web-based technologies for learning; demonstrate knowledge of Moodle and other tech-based tools for the digital classroom.
• demonstrate a high level of English Language Proficiency with a IETLS 6.0 or more.
