Job description: Offer DescriptionThe 3BIO-BioMatter Unit at Université libre de Bruxelles (campus Solbosch, Brussels, Belgium) is seeking a highly motivated and skilled part-time researcher, for 15 months to join our team. This role is part of a cutting-edge project to develop advanced chitosan biomaterial inks for 3D bioprinting applications in regenerative medicine. The successful candidate will work closely with our team of experts in polymer science, physical chemistry, and biology to enhance the biocompatibility and printability of these innovative materials.Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct research on the modification and characterization of chitosan-based biomaterials.
• Develop and optimize 3D bioprinting protocols using the newly formulated biomaterial inks.
• Perform in vitro biocompatibility testing using relevant cell lines.
• Collaborate with postdoctoral researchers, Ph.D. students, and other team members to achieve project goals.
• Document research findings and prepare reports for project meetings and publications.

Qualifications:

• A Master’s degree in Chemistry, Material Science, chemical engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field.
• Able to communicate and write in English.
• A strong background in polymer chemistry and biomaterials is desirable.
• Proficiency in various material characterization techniques (e.g., rheology, microscopy) is a plus
• Knowledge of hydrogels and cross-linking strategies is a plus
• Analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
