Job description: Contract: Permanent full-time (Rostered and Rotating 24/7, 40 hours per week)Salary: $70,970 – $78,397Kōrero mō te tūranga – About the roleWe are looking for an enthusiastic multi-skilled Administrator to join our vibrant team at Wellington Hospital.This is a rostered and rotating position working in a 24/7 service. We currently operate on a 12 line roster in the Emergency Department and Transit Lounge, and a 4 line roster in Birthing Suite.Some of your duties will include:

  • Meeting and greeting patients and visitors
  • Demographic validation
  • Registering all patients who present
  • Admissions, discharges and transfers of patients
  • Administration support for clinical staff

Mō tō mātou rōpū – About our teamThis team and role is diverse and you will be dealing with a range of different people, for which you will have excellent customer focus and empathy skills.The aim of our team is to provide a patient focused, efficient and helpful reception and administration service for all emergency visits, admissions, transfers, discharges, and carry out other administration functions that support the clinical teams.As the successful candidate you will be a committed team player who is computer literate, a self-starter, has the ability to prioritise, previous data entry skills and can work under pressure.Moū – About youThe successful candidate will need to have great computer skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in an environment that is often dealing with ambiguity. Alongside these, we are also looking for someone who:

  • Has effective time management
  • A driver’s license
  • Is self-motivated and aware
  • Is a great team player
  • Is able to commit to a 24/7 rotating roster
