Job description: Project Description Traffic management systems are used in smart cities in order to reduce congestions and improve the flow of vehicles. In a previous work, we proposed to use dynamic road signs (road signs with a digital screen that displays changing messages) in order to alert drivers who are heading towards congestions. In this second phase of the project, we propose to use the infrastructure (of the traffic network) in order to collect real-time data about the traffic and then predict traffic flows and congestions. As predicting traffic flow heavily relies on data quality, we need to make sure that data they collected about the traffic is reliable. We thus propose to design a mechanism to help filter received data.RA duties and Responsibilities

• Build a hardware prototype that feeds a Dynamic Road Sign with traffic predictions.

• Test the prototype and report the results

• Equip the Dynamic Road Sign with required hardware/code to detect vehicle speed, driver behavior, and traffic flow.
