Teaching and learning at BHS is underpinned by a rigorous and student-centred approach to curriculum pedagogy and practice.Beacon Hill School has supportive, dedicated and committed staff who collaborate with each other and the parent community to ensure every student is supported and challenged to be the best they can be.PTA Administrator (Part-Time, not more than 17.5 hours per week)The PTA Committee at Beacon Hill School (BHS) is looking for a part-time administrator who can successfully build community engagement. BHS PTA stages a number of social and fundraising events each year and supports the school and parent community, for the benefit of all BHS students.Main Accountabilities:
- Seek new ideas and research opportunities for community engagement
- Build a database of contacts, providers and parent contacts.
- Planning and coordination of events, both large and small scale to build community spirit.
- Developing, sourcing and ordering new products e.g. fundraising items, student gifts.
- General administrative support, including dealing with incoming and outgoing correspondence and responding to general enquiries.
- Prepare and circulate newsletters, meeting notices, agendas, minutes, reports and update publications.
- Liaise regularly with the PTA Committee.
- Processing and recording all outgoing payments, and incoming funds (e.g. donations, proceeds from events and sales etc.); providing information to external service providers (e.g. auditors, company secretary).
Competencies and requirements required:
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to liaise with students, parents and school staff.
- Good organisational and administrative skills, including the ability to work with standard software packages (Microsoft Office, Google Docs etc.).
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently, as well as cooperatively, as part of a team.
- Good command of spoken and written English.
- Cantonese is not required, but would be an advantage.
Working Hours
- The role is term-time only, plus an additional week in August (i.e. duties will commence the week before school resumes each year).
- Current working hours will not be more than 17.5 hours per week.
- Attendance at after school or evening meetings and events will be required, on occasion.
- It is anticipated that the hours will be spread over 3-4 days.
