Are you one of those rare technologists as comfortable working with engineering teams, as you are presenting to a CEO? The Amazon Web Services (AWS) Office of the CTO is hiring!
We’re looking for an excellent technologist and creative thinker to join our team and help shape drive the vision for technical projects through new and existing video initiatives. The role requires meticulous attention to detail, a collaborative working style, and ability to articulate the most complex technical concepts in terms that make sense to customers, press, and the public. This is a unique opportunity to play a critical role in the development and delivery of AWS’s most important messages and stories, while gaining insights into the day-to-day operations of a C-suite office. The ideal candidate comes from a software and/or infrastructure background, but is also imaginative, with an unmet need to tell stories. The candidate must have the technical depth to work together with principle and distinguished engineers, the vision to amplify their efforts through building a program, and have an unparalleled work ethic to deliver results.
Job Responsibilities:
• Work with engineering teams to distill key functionality and benefits into compelling stories told through great visuals and crisp talk tracks
• Research, facilitate and produce technical stories that resonate with highly technical audiences
• Partner with product marketing and other internal teams to produce high quality video assets
• Comfortable delivering presentations to large audiences
• Collaborate with the customer references team to identify and create compelling customer stories
• Write clear, consistent scripts and other documentation
• Play a critical role in the evolution of the company message
• Work with outside agencies to create the creative to engage audiences
• Work with production teams to ensure successful execution on the planned content
Preferred locations: San Francisco, CA/ Los Angeles, CA/ Seattle, WA/ Palo Alto, CA/ Arlington, VA/ New York, NY or other locations in the US where Amazon has a presence will be considered.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
• 10+ years of experience in solution architecture, evangelism, product or program management, product marketing, business development or technology
• Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product
• Experience with end-to-end product delivery
• Experience contributing to engineering discussions around technology decisions and strategy related to a product
• Experience overseeing roadmap strategy and definition
• Experience in Microsoft PowerPoint or Apple Keynote
• Experience with vlogs and/or other light video production and editing
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Experience architecting and deploying AWS solutions in a production environment
• AWS Solution Architect Professional or Associate Certification
• Strong background in messaging and executive speech support
• Technical writing and requirements-gathering abilities
• Experience in crafting compelling positioning and marketing content
• Experience communicating with both technical and non-technical stakeholders across multiple teams, as well as internal and external audiences.
• Exceptional executive poise and presence to customers and internal leadership, along with strategic and analytical thinking are essential.
