The Team:  The Sr. Community & Event Coordinator position is part of the American Girl Chicago retail store team.

Job Description

The Opportunity: The Community and Event Coordinator manages and leads all aspects of the planning, coordination, and communication for private and large group parties and sales, store events, excursions, community and hotel partnerships for the store location.  Work in world famous Rockefeller Plaza in the heart of New York City.  And you will be in the American Girl Flagship location!

What Your Impact Will Be: 

  • Independently research and solicit group prospects and partnerships within the community for internal and external store events.  
  • Partners as team leader to plan/execute event and assigns roles and responsibilities with the AG store teams.  Resolves any customer service issues and leads event execution team to do the same.
  • Communicates with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure each event is executed with excellence.
  • Propose revenue driving initiatives and support manage budget recommendations per event.
  • Manage store events and provide support to other team members on planning of storewide projects.
  • Processes all paperwork including contracts.
  • Support retail floor when needed.
  • Work directly with Retail Marketing Team on all company events, launches, and event initiatives.
  • Take lead position with PR and Brand and acts as Brand Ambassador for the location.
  • Plan and execute Influencer/VIP/PR and Celebrity visits
  • Drive and partner with key retail teams to provide merchandise displays and manage inventory for events.
  • Provide guidance to Flagship partners and home store on community outreach, hotel affiliations and Retail Marketing Team on legal needs
  • Manage master grid of all events/programs for home store.  Lead the creation of store restaurant, and event hours.  Update the AG website team.
  • Analyzes annually all events/programs to determine effectiveness in achieving retail marketing goals provide recommendations and feedback.  Researching, recommending, and implementing new events/programs.

 

Qualifications

What We’re Looking For: 

  • 3-5 years of related experience, preferred
  • Excellent communication skills, including both verbal and written.
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Platform/presentation skills
  • Customer service skills
  • Party or event planning experience
