Job summary
Are you a detail-oriented community manager who enjoys building lasting relationships with technical communities? Do you also gravitate towards the program management side of community-building, creating frameworks processes, and playbooks, to help scale community building programs globally? The Product Marketing team for Analytics is seeking an experienced, committed, and innovative community manager to own and program manage developer/builder communities on a global level, while also building lasting relationships with AWS community leaders and advocates. This role will sit within our AWS Product Marketing organization, where our goal is to win the hearts and minds of developers and hands on builders around the world, by meeting them where they are and providing the right technical education, tools, and resources to enable developer success.
As a Senior Community Manager, you will act as a liaison between our internal Developer Marketing, Product Marketing, Field Marketing, Developer Relations teams, and the North America community of builders. You will be the main point of contact for both AWS and third-party technical communities and user groups, setting up and nurturing communities in a path of organic and sustainable growth. You will also be responsible for creating and maintaining symbiotic relationships with prominent developers who are influential in the cloud development arena, providing them with tools and resources to share knowledge of AWS at scale within their networks. This role is a hybrid, part community manager, part program manager, where you will define and drive messaging, establish engagement tactics and investments, implement global and local programs, and support community events and marketing to drive advocacy of AWS within their networks.
This role is Virtual – US but also open to those who prefer an AWS office. Relocation assistance available within the US on non-virtual hires.
In this role you will:
Own and program manage our global Community advocacy vision and initiative to engage with passionate developers and builders who seek to acquire Cloud and AWS skills, while sharing their knowledge with others.
Drive event strategy, execution, and measurement for community engagement at AWS and third-party events
Lead existing community awareness programs in North America (AWS User Groups, AWS Community Days, and more), as well as innovating net-new initiatives relevant to the region and the wider community landscape of developers.
Drive program content and messaging, mange ongoing North America program communication, recurring events, & management/on-boarding of program members in partnership with internal stakeholders.
Manage relationships with influential AWS builders, grow technical user (developers, architects, and more) communities. Partner with these leaders, provide them the platforms needed to share their AWS stories in-person and online.
Work closely with multiple internal teams and stakeholders to scale the community advocacy strategy.
Build tactics for quantifying the impact of our community engagement & advocacy programs
Report on metrics and discuss progress of the community initiatives with regional Business, and Marketing leadership, evolving the program structure as needed to align to shifting community needs.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
7+ years’ experience in marketing, marketing communications, community management, and/or digital/high-technology companies/product management
7+ years’ experience building, executing and scaling cross-functional marketing programs
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Advertising, Engineering or other related discipline OR an additional 4+ years’ building, executing and scaling cross-functional marketing programs
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
* A Bachelor and/or MBA degree in marketing, business, technology, or relevant field of study
Proven track record in building community engagement/advocacy programs
A career path that demonstrates increasing levels of responsibility
Self-starter with demonstrated ability and willingness to roll up sleeves and execute to get the job done• Accomplished range of skills from high level strategic thinking to creative and detailed execution
Attention to detail, excellent organization skills, with proven success in managing complex and multi-faceted marketing programs driving projects through completion
* A leader and excellent communicator who can drive consensus and articulate program recommendations and trade-offs to senior leadership

The base pay range for this position in Colorado is $142k – $193k per year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A sign-on bonus and restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
