Duties: Associate with Goldman Sachs & Co. LLC in New York, NY. Associate role within the Fixed Income, Currency and Commodities (FICC) Credit Structuring Sales Strat group, which develops cross-asset financing solutions for our investor and corporate clients across a range of private credit, structured credit, derivatives, and real asset classes. We aim to understand the inherent drivers of our client’s business to structure tailored solutions that solve their issues which utilize a principal or capital markets solution. The group works closely with sales, trading and investment banking, and has developed several innovative transactions given the group’s unique perspective and connectivity. Lead aspects of the structuring and negotiation of bespoke hedging facilities and transactions in a range of formats, including as derivatives and funded notes that seek to use generate cost-effective economic hedging and capital relief for Goldman Sachs. Drive legal negotiations with counterparties and work with counsel and internal control functions to create legal documentation for various trades. Perform various types of in-depth modelling, using Excel and VBA, including: Optimizing the efficiency of hedges for the Firm by comparing the cost-efficacy of a variety of options; Analyzing the bank-capital consumed by a variety of products, including Residential Mortgage Backed Securities (RMBS), Commercial Mortgage Backed Securities (CMBS), Collateralized Loan Obligations (CLOs), CMBX (series of CMBS), and various loans, including Prime Jumbo Mortgage Loans; and Monitoring and analyzing the performance of Aircraft ABS to identify trends, compare performance, drive actionable insights for the trading desk, and produce detailed reporting for investors on the performance of securitizations. Work with global sales teams to raise capital for banking clients by creating marketing materials, educating salespeople on the structure and the asset class, and pitching the offering directly to investor clients. Develop written communication materials – business plans, pitchbooks, termsheets, investment memos, and other key materials required to market and execute transactions. Lead the process to secure internal approvals for transactions, including composing committee memoranda and presenting to senior internal stakeholders. Work directly with the Firm’s salespeople to analyze exposure, structure transactions, and explain quantitative concepts to clients. Work directly with sales to market the content developed directly to the Firm’s clients globally.

Job Requirements: Bachelor’s degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Economics, Finance, or related field. Two (2) years in the job offered or in a related role. Prior experience must include two (2) years with: analyzing a variety of FICC products focused on securitizations, structured products, Credit Default Swaps, structured notes, and other derivatives; excel-based financial modeling experience, with a demonstrated ability to build corporate and/or securitization models, including incorporating functionality such as Excel VBA to add flexibility to models; modeling bank capital requirements for ABS, loans, and other FICC products; communicating with corporate and institutional clients; drafting deal materials, including term sheets, internal committee memos, and externally facing marketing materials such as teasers and investor presentations; and U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (U.S. GAAP). Series 7, Series 63, and SIE (Security Industry Essentials) Licenses required. Approximately 10% of time in the role is spent travelling (internationally and domestically) to meet clients and investors.
