About the Role

The Chief of Staff (CoS) will be a key partner, facilitator, and advisor to the Head of Central Operations and the Central Operations Leads for our Rides business across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA).
This person will be someone who is passionate about driving business and organizational performance, through owning governance; coordination with partners (eg product, regional teams, and functions); and facilitating critical business or organizational decision-making.

What You’ll Do

• Independently come up with and drive initiatives to improve the effectiveness of the EMEA Rides Central Ops organization.
• Drive target setting for Central Operations, in partnership with the local regions and global or functional teams;
• Develop and drive performance management systems and processes, and
• Support prioritization and resource allocation around projects or services (like product launches)
• Lead discussions with strategy and planning teams and other functions to scope or drive critical business programs
• Lead other critical programs to drive team efficiency, development, and culture-building

Basic Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience
Excellent planning and organization skills; ability to bring structure to and lead large multi-stakeholder groups.
Comfortable project managing the rollout of large initiatives across the region which require cross-functional collaboration across operations, product, cities, marketing, legal, and tax.
Data-driven decision mentality and sound business judgment through excellent analytical thinking. Experience in the manipulation of data sets and data interpretation.
Critical thinking and master problem solver; develop new frameworks for sophisticated problems where no standards exist today and engages other specialists for feedback and integrates it optimally. Ability to work effectively with both internal and external partners from technological, business, and strategic standpoints and to make recommendations on creative business models and structures. Ability to wear multiple hats and see different points of view to find solutions to complex problem statements.
Experience withidentifying, building, and improving operational processes.*
Strong communication and influencer. You must be comfortable sharing information formally or informally at all levels of the organization. Able to articulate a clear vision and areas of strategic focus as well as influence across EMEA, LOB, and globally to achieve strategic goals.

Preferred Qualifications

• Worked in an area where you’ve had to structure and scope ambiguous problems (eg strategy consulting; internal strategy or just owning the thinking on a business topic)
• Worked on problems that involved multiple diverse partners, requiring you to take different perspectives and come up with numerous options
• Had experience in planning and organizing a group of people around complex topics; difficult processes or difficult-to-measure important metrics
• Problem-scoping and solving skills: good at prioritizing ambiguous problems and coming up with pragmatic processes or solves
• Great with people: can see issues or opportunities from different perspectives and can think about how to mitigate risks and/or scale upside
• Teamwork: enjoys thinking about team performance; cares about building an inclusive and impactful culture, and is a positive teammate
