Job Description

The role provides regulatory support for Kimberly-Clark Consumer and Professional (KCP) businesses to ensure compliance. This position will focus on providing regulatory support for products with a food contact claim and provide additional support for products classified as chemicals or cosmetics.

This position requires a high degree of interaction with business teams, suppliers, test houses, government agencies, standards bodies and KC employees at all levels within the organization.


The primary customers are the Regional Consumer and KCP Businesses. Other customers include mill/plant operations and quality management teams, R&E, Legal, Regulatory Affairs, Quality, Clinical Affairs, Product Safety, Chemical Management, Purchasing, Logistics, suppliers and contract manufacturers.

Key accountabilities:

  • Participate in project teams to define country regulatory requirements
  • Prepare accurate regulatory submissions to secure timely approvals in support of business initiatives
  • Monitor the development of relevant changes to regulations and standards and communicate potential business impact to all appropriate levels of management
  • Support training on local and regional regulatory requirements to the appropriate business team members and highlight implications of differences with respect to product development, testing activities and business strategies to minimise business impact and bring speed to the registration process
  • Represent Kimberly-Clark’s interests at Trade Associations as required
  • Build capability in the business teams to ensure that regulatory requirements are considered throughout the product development and product sourcing processes.
  • Conduct training seminars on regulatory requirements and/or impending regulations to the appropriate business team members to enable the best global development activities
  • Develop and maintain regulatory procedures to ensure consistent, efficient and compliant regulatory processes
  • Maintain tracking information in support of regulatory compliance for products with a food contact claim
  • Manage self in accordance with the One K-C Behaviors and Culture of Accountability
  • Communicate appropriately with all customers, government and regulatory agencies and peers, conducting all communications and transactions with the utmost integrity and honesty


The incumbent enables market access for KCP & Consumer products regulated as Food Contact Materials in the UK & EU. The role requires knowledge of the current National Food Contact materials regulations in order to conduct regulatory assessments and ensure compliance as well as to develop processes to sustain compliance.

The main challenges of the position are:

  • Understanding the various Kimberly-Clark domestic and international business needs and leveraging these against regional and country registration requirements.
  • Understanding and interpreting domestic and international regulations relative to new technology and product development.
  • Having the ability to understand the technical aspects of the vast array of regulated products manufactured and/or marketed by the Kimberly-Clark business units.
  • Have the insight to problem-solve proactively on regulatory and associated quality issues.
  • Comply with K-C policies, internal controls and global regulations.

Personal attributes/key behaviours

Detail-oriented and strong organisational skills to handle multiple projects, the ability to work well under pressure, good oral and written communication skills and good interpersonal skills. The ability to demonstrate judgment, function as a cooperative team member, organise workload and setting priorities are essential.

Qualifications/Education/Experience Required:

A Bachelor´s degree, ideally in chemistry or a relevant discipline and 2-3 years of relevant technical experience,

Experience should include close working relationships with Business, Marketing, Manufacturing and Research functions, and a solid background of technical knowledge and experience combined with the proven ability to successfully support projects.

Experience with food contact materials is required.

Knowledge and experience of EU Cosmetics regulation EC 1223/2009 and Regulation (EC) 1272/2008 on the classification, labelling and packaging of substances and mixtures is desirable

Must be fluent in English, other languages are desirable.
