The holiday season is one of the most exciting and customer-focused events of the year at Amazon. It is an annual retail event when customers all over the world come to Amazon to shop for their loved ones and find the best deals (e.g., Black Friday/Cyber Monday). Amazon is looking for a unique marketing leader with the intuition, strategic thinking, and executional capability to drive awareness and engagement for high-traffic events. The customer experience is foundational at Amazon, and we are looking for a seasoned marketer to amplify Amazon’s value, convenience, and selection for customers. As Sr. Marketing Manager, WW Events this role drives the cross-channel go-to-market plans for annual tentpole events, such as Prime Day, Back to School, Holiday, etc. An ideal candidate will bring a track record of developing, managing, and optimizing large cross-channel campaigns. The right person is a superb collaborator, and excels at managing and influencing broad stakeholder groups.

To be successful you will need to establish clear processes, set prioritization, and be able to communicate effectively both in writing and verbally. The right candidate will be a self-starter and have strong interpersonal and project management skills working autonomously on marketing plan inputs and outputs. This role will need to have a high bar for writing, grammar, and high attention to detail to deliver high-quality marketing programs. You must be able to work at the strategic level (generating bold and innovative ideas for growth) and at the tactical level (project managing, developing calendars, analyzing traffic data, and updating playbook tools). This person should be collaborative, results oriented, relentlessly focused on the customer, and push to uphold high standards all elements of execution. This person should be passionate about owning difficult and complex go-to-market programs, and push for the right launch strategies based on inputs from all stakeholder teams. You will also report out on program health regularly to key stakeholders and partner teams across the organization.

In particular, this role will:

  • Own the end-to-end development and consolidation of the annual Q4/Holiday integrated marketing plan across various Amazon teams;
  • Assess visit and purchase behavior trends by segment in order to expose seasonal shopping behavior opportunities that can be leveraged to drive the event;
  • Work closely with and insights teams to understand historic buying behaviors and forward-looking opportunities to leverage new products/news/onsite experiences/ plans, etc.;
  • Recommend and gain alignment on messaging for the event, including partnering with creative teams on style guide development;
  • Collaborate with channel teams – including mass media, PR, onsite and automated (search, automated social, outbound, associates, onsite publishing, etc.) to develop cross-channel, and cross-category plans;
  • Ensure pre- and post-event research is in place that to expose behavior insights that can inform future onsite and offsite; and
  • Have experience with global marketing planning and execution, coordinating with and regularly share learnings and best practices with partner teams and global counterparts.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree, ideally in an applicable discipline such as Business or Marketing
  • 5+ years of marketing experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Retail, technology and/or mobile experience
  • Loyalty, membership, and/or life-cycle marketing experience
  • Track of record of developing, managing and optimizing large-scale cross-channel marketing campaigns
  • Ability to partner cross-functionally, lead through influence, and work with a wide range of stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to operate both strategically and tactically in fast-paced, global environments
  • Excellent written communication skills; capable of articulating both strategic recommendations and detailed tactical plans
  • Advanced degree (MBA or other applicable advanced degree)
  • Ability to work on a diverse team or with a diverse range of coworkers
