The Amazon Transportation Services (ATS) organization collectively represents some of the most critical components of Amazon’s first-class transportation network. Everything we do is aimed at further delighting our customers with faster, cheaper and more efficient means of receiving packages. With Amazon Freight, SMB and Enterprise Shippers can tap into Amazon’s world-class middle mile transportation solutions for their own freight needs, whether shipping inbound to Amazon or to third-party facilities.

We are seeking a rockstar Marketing Manager, Activation and Engagement, to support our inbound shipping marketing team. As a key member of the inbound marketing team, you will manage and execute end-to-end activation and engagement marketing campaigns to new and existing SMB and Enterprise sellers and vendors. You will focus on marketing channel ownership and execution to communicate and engage with seller and vendors, including, but not limited to, email, direct mail, and Amazon-owned properties. In addition to tactical execution, you will partner with Business Intelligence to automate an inbound activation and engagement dashboard to inform a marketing mix strategy that balances rigorously testing new channels and scaling efficient channels. You will own building an automated email marketing program in partnership with the Sr. Marketing Operations Manager, leveraging tools to create a program for scale. You will own the development of reporting mechanisms, and will provide results, insights and optimization recommendations to drive business goals. You will also partner closely with our inbound sales team, to enable sales conversion via developing helpful shipper-facing creative materials leveraging our Creative Studio team for assets. An ideal candidate has the ability to influence cross-functionally, providing new ideas to optimize marketing to support business goals across inbound transportation programs for vendors and sellers, and third-party Transportation Management Systems.
To be successful in this role, you will learn and stay up-to-date on the evolving inbound shipping to Amazon products and external freight industry best practices and trends. You operate well under pressure, pivoting strategies quickly and as-needed, while balancing competing priorities. You have a creative vision, as you will oversee creation for various forms of design and content to fit your marketing needs.

Key job responsibilities
• Manage marketing channels and execution across multiple channels, including email, direct mail, and Amazon-owned properties.
• Develop compelling marketing campaigns with the creative team to help engage our customers, including but not limited to: content marketing, digital media content, and video;
• Own a marketing reporting dashboard and create mechanisms to share performance with leadership and the broader business;
• Execute a vision for the long- and short-term activation and engagement marketing roadmap;
• Create processes to enable scale while continuing to hold a high-quality bar;
• Champion bold and creative ideas and lead the exploration of emerging media channels to grow the business;
• Triage marketing requests according to the business needs and high-level inbound roadmap direction;
• Leverage customer insights to inform marketing strategies;
• Plan and manage marketing channel budgets;
• Work with cross-functional teams within the organization (e.g. marketers, international teams, product managers, customer insights, sales and BI).

About the team
The Amazon Freight marketing team support SMB and Enterprise shippers who ship externally and inbound shippers to Amazon. The team spans lifecycle marketing, content marketing, marketing operations, strategic partnerships, creative and customer insights.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• 4+ years of relevant experience in marketing, media, or advertising
• 3+ years experience in email marketing, including use of emails tools such as Pardot, Marketo, etc.
• 3+ years of experience working cross-functionally across Sales, Product Management, Marketing, PR, Design and Legal
• Bachelors degree or higher in Marketing, Communications, Business or relevant field

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• 6+ years of relevant experience
• Project management skills
• Strong drive for results and ability to take calculate risks
• Experience managing complex processes working across cross functional teams and senior stakeholders
• Experience and understanding of B2B marketing strategies for acquisition and/or engagement
• Strong oral and written communication abilities, including experience developing written documents in a professional setting
• Ability to quantify ROI on efforts
• Able to work in a diverse team
• Proven ability to influence others
• Desire to work in a fast-paced, highly ambiguous entrepreneurial culture
• Bachelor’s degree or higher, or equivalent work experience
• Freight/transportation industry experience highly preferred
