The Business Messaging Group’s (BMG) mission is to become the primary way that people and businesses communicate through APIs and tools such as WhatsApp, Messenger, and Instagram Direct. Today, about 500m users and 750k businesses around the world use business messaging and we’re just starting to put into place a full funnel sales and marketing operation to drive further growth. The mission of our Business Planning and Operations (BP&O) function is to maximize business performance by being the objective, trusted partner to the sales organization through analytics, strategic planning, cross-functional collaboration and operational excellence. We identify and drive critical projects and strategic initiatives to support revenue growth while supporting the operational cadence to surface business insights. We provide business critical insights to maintain and improve day-to-day operations, definitively explain business trends, and evolve early-stage ideas into future-growth initiatives. This role brings both missions together to help maximize business performance for BMG. We are seeking a team manager to support the BMG Marketing & Growth team via the BP&O function. Key activities include product GTM operations, prioritization, goaling and reporting, and strategy for the variety of business messaging products and tools being developed and sold by BMG. This role would partner closely with BMG Product Marketing and Marketing functions, as well as other key functions such as Product, Data Analytics, Sales and Partnerships leaders. The ideal candidate will be passionate about Meta, have a strong analytical and consultative mindset, experience in working with stakeholders from sales, marketing and enterprise SaaS backgrounds, the ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment delivering against tight deadlines, and a passion for scaling operations.

Business Planning & Operations Manager, Marketing & Growth, Business Messaging Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of planning and operations experts supporting the BMG Marketing & Growth team
  • Build a strong and trusted relationship with the BMG Marketing & Growth team, serving as a go-to business partner to deliver operational and programmatic support on strategic initiatives
  • Drive strategy, alignment and prioritization across BMG through a product lens. Identify and structure high priority product GTM programs and growth opportunities by working with business stakeholders and analytics teams, managing communications
  • Establish a regular operating cadence to track, communicate, and drive towards set goals and KPIs around product growth and policy enforcement/integrity. Identify key roadblocks to progress, and work efficiently to remove them. Oversee milestones, timelines and lead cross-functional groups to synthesize feedback and deliver on objectives
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders in annual business planning and investment cases, headcount management, key organizational metrics, and other operational projects
  • Segment customer audiences for business messaging products with Product and Product Marketing, defining the GTM motion and products appropriate for each audience
  • Define roles and responsibilities, collaboration models, customer overlap, and data sharing processes between business messaging GTM efforts to SMBs and similar motions in other GTM teams such as ad sales for SMBs
  • Define and track overall ROI of GTM motions for SMB products, and advise on resource allocation accordingly
  • Drive alignment between marketing and sales
  • define, measure, and optimize upper funnel operations with a view on full funnel ROI
  • Understand interplay between ‘click to messaging’ ads products and business messaging software products, and manage half-yearly planning with the ads teams as the bridge between the BMG organization and the ads sales organization

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 12+ years of work experience in Sales Operations, Business Planning, and/or Strategy consulting, or 10+ years of experience with MBA/Masters degree
  • People management experience
  • Experience in the B2B SaaS space, with a good understanding of scaled GTM motions, demand generation and marketing operations (including sales and marketing funnel optimization, understanding of MarTech and the latest marketing ops methodologies), lead routing rules and leads tracking
  • Experience influencing without authority, developing relationships across product, operations, sales, partnerships, etc. and working effectively with all organizational levels
  • Skills in problem solving, analytics and project management
  • Experience with ambiguity and building strategies and processes from scratch
  • Communication skills
  • Experience working proactively and autonomously in an evolving role, on multiple projects at once, prioritize work independently, and work under pressure
  • Experience designing and launching organization wide scalable processes that promote governance and accountability
  • Program management experience including goal setting, action planning, risk management, milestone/action tracking, KPI tracking, progress reporting and communications
