The Role

TxB’s Risk Management team oversees all risks across TxB globally. Potential candidates will have a bird’s eye view of an exciting new business and the opportunity to work closely with TxB and GS leadership teams. They will also have a view into all TxB products, new business initiatives, go-to-market strategies, client interactions, regulatory dynamic and the full spectrum of business risks and controls.

Principal responsibilities relate to:

  • Provide thought leadership and support TxB’s global and regional risk management programs, developing and implementing risk strategies enabling continual improvement to keep up with evolving business needs
  • Directly accountable for TxB’s credit risk program. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
    • Establish program governance framework and portfolio structure in order to deliver the business objectives regarding commercial outcome and credit risk appetite
    • Oversight of all credit risk across TxB products such as lending products, intra-day risk
    • Build and optimize existing risk management strategies to improve loss targets/commercial benefit
    • Oversee the development of TxB credit polices
    • Provide strategic liaison between TxB credit risk and firmwide credit risk team to ensure program management
    • Work closely with business and federation partners including Legal, Compliance, Controllers and second line Risk
    • Establish a culture of continuous improvement, in line with strategic objectives and introduction of new products and offerings
  • Work closely with TxB’s head of Credit Products to create a transparent and effective approach to credit risk management. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
    • Partner with product leadership for co-developing various credit products
    • Post stakeholders on continuous progress within the function
  • Support regulatory and executive leadership interface as required. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
    • Keep up to date with applicable regulations and compliance requirements
    • Ensure credit risk strategies and related controls comply with global regulatory requirements, oversee regulatory reporting;

Basic Qualifications

  • As a risk leader in a startup environment, Credit Products Risk Manager will secondarily engage with a broad range of risk management topics including:
    • Support TxB’s Risk program buildout globally, provide oversight of key policies and procedures, and oversee various governance forums
    • Support TxB’s business development team on structuring legal & compliance solutions, client documentation reviews and exception approvals, other revenue enablement and regulatory controls related to Sanctions & AML
    • Coordinate with second line (risk, compliance, controllers, etc.) and third line of defense (audit) stakeholders
    • Support executive reporting, GS governance committee and board presentations
    • Assist with TxB’s global expansion program, including the development of business and operational controls
  • ~15 years’ experience in a risk management or audit role
  • Prior experience leading large high performing teams
  • Ability to be creative, collaborate widely and deliver on key risk objectives in a fast paced start-up environment
  • Strong presentation skills, organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Strong data analysis skills. Visualizing complex data analyses and communicating to a wide variety of audiences, including senior leadership

Preferred Qualifications

  • Small business cash-flow, portfolio lending credit experience
  • Prior Transaction Banking and payments risk experience
