Responsibilities

The Family Office Director will serve Ultra High Net Worth ($10M or more in invest-able assets) individuals and families. This role will manage multi-disciplinary teams and projects to serve client’s needs around taxes, investments, financial planning, estate planning and accounting. This position will work with Firm Leadership to develop and further build out our Family Office services to drive the success of our multi-service practice. Networking, relationship building, and new business development will be factor in this role as it helps achieve our revenue goals.

Client Service and Consulting for Family Office clients

  • Lead guidance as complex, affluent families manage their family businesses, family member development, family investments, family trusts and other family entities
  • Manage teams of internal and external attorneys, bankers, accountants and other specialists in meeting the family’s overall management, development and service needs

Project Management involving cross functional service teams

  • Manage complex financial activities and projects for the different families we serve
  • Collaborate directly with attorneys, bankers, accountants, and other professionals under advisement and often provide direction on behalf of the family

Networking/New Business Development

  • support the partner(s) in their efforts to develop more family relationships and achieving the financial goals of the team.
  • Learn the sale process, supporting the Partner’s sales efforts with proposal preparation and participation in prospect consulting meetings.
  • Develop the growth skills necessary to ultimately make Partner and have a lead role in business development.

Develop and Management of Teams

  • Recruit and manage the team members supporting our Wealth Management/Family Office practice.
  • Develop and maintaining connections with teams employed directly by the family, law firm teams, banking teams and other professional teams the family utilizes

Other duties, as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree Required in relevant field. Advanced Degree highly desired.
  • Ten (10) to Fifteen (15) years experience
  • Demonstrated ability to identify the multi-disciplinary needs of Ultra High Net Worth client and families and then lead teams to serve those needs.
  • Strong project management skills with demonstrated ability to manage multi-disciplinary teams and projects
  • Integrated knowledge of tax, investment, financial planning, estate planning and accounting
  • Licenses/Certifications such as CPA, MST or JD are desired for this role, additional qualifying designations would be beneficial (MBA, CFP, ChFC, CRA, CIC or PFS). Individual does not need to be a FINRA registered representative for this role.
  • Demonstrated ability to network and successfully work with outside lawyers, accountants, and consultants that serve the client families
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage complex situation
