Global Markets Fixed Income, Currency, and Commodities (FICC) Technology plays a key role in the firm’s ability to help institutional clients buy and sell financial instruments on liquidity venues around the world, an important revenue driver for the firm. In FICC Technology we use both open source industry standard and internal proprietary technologies to build cutting edge platforms for pricing, execution, and control over each of these millions of transactions.
The candidate will be partnering with technologists, strategists, traders and salespeople in the Goldman Sachs FICC trading environment. Candidate will be primarily responsible for design, development and managing the production environment of trade automation systems.
The Commodities desk is a key trading desk within the Goldman Sachs Global Markets – FICC (Fixed Income Currency and Commodities) Division. Commodities business is global in nature, and the Technology teams work alongside the businesses in London, New York and Singapore.
The Commodities Technology team interacts directly with Trading and Sales to develop trading systems to achieve their business goals. It is a fast paced environment where individuals with strong development and interpersonal skills gain a unique insight into how financial markets work.
Our team of engineers build solutions to various complex problems. We provide the systems and tools for the Commodities business to trade, to manage their risk, and to generate trade ideas.
We are seeking a hands-on Java developer to join the Singapore Commodities Technology team and lead the trade automation efforts within front office. The role will involve working on a wide range of projects focusing on post trade automation of listed derivative trading flows, trading and risk management applications, new business development and electronic trading. This is a strategic cross asset platform so there will be opportunities to work with the latest full stack web technologies, Java, Rabbit MQ, Kafka and GS object oriented database (SecDB).
The candidate will directly experience the impact of their work as they see the Commodities business use their systems on a daily basis.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- 4+ years of commercial experience
- Strong analytical and programming skills in Java
- Good understanding of TDD, CI/CD
- Ability to quickly learn new languages and technologies
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Comfortable in managing multiple stakeholders and collaborating as part of multi-regional global team
- Experience with distributed message broker platforms such as Rabbit MQ, Kafka
- Background in finance preferred but not mandatory
