MEDICAL OFFICE ASSISTANT PURPOSE:

This MEDICAL OFFICE ASSISTANT position provides administrative support to DaVita Integrated Kidney Care Nurses and other members of the Integrated Care Team. This role collects, verifies and enters patient medical information into appropriate databases, develops reports and other materials for distribution.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES of the MEDICAL OFFICE ASSISTANT:

The following duties and responsibilities generally reflect the expectations of this MEDICAL OFFICE ASSISTANT position but are not intended to be all inclusive.

  • Collect, verify, enter, and maintain data and medical record information in the DaVita Integrated Kidney Care medical management database including but not limited to patient, provider, and payer contact and referral information.
  • Monitors reports and data feeds, and communicates with the Integrated Care Team to ensure data is current and complete
  • Attend team meetings, conferences, and trainings as required.
  • Know, understand, and follow teammate guidelines, employment policies, and department or company procedures.
  • Consistent, regular, punctual attendance as scheduled is an essential responsibility of this MEDICAL OFFICE ASSISTANT position.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS of the MEDICAL OFFICE ASSISTANT:

Education, licenses, certifications, and experience required to fulfill the essential duties of the MEDICAL OFFICE ASSISTANT position.

  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Prior medical/clerical administrative experience preferred but not required
  • Intermediate proficiency in navigating MS Office applications and other databases
  • Deals with confidential information using discretion and judgment
  • Basic proficiency in department Medical Information System Technology (MIST) within 60 days of employment or position change required
