Position Description:

Associate Director, Office of Ethics Investigator

Summary of Position

The Associate Director, Office of Ethics Investigator will report to the Director of U.S. Investigations in Our Company’s Office of Ethics (OOE) as part of the broader Ethics & Compliance Organization.

The successful candidate will be responsible for investigating, resolving, and remediating potential policy violations and alleged misconduct involving our Company’s employees in the United States. An Associate Director, Office of Ethics investigator also acts as a confidential and impartial source of assistance in the resolution of employee work-related concerns. The successful candidate must be able to analyze data and draw reasonable conclusions; possesses strong listening, communication and writing skills; be able to thrive in a fast paced and dynamic environment; and be able to work effectively with stakeholders at various levels of the organization.

As the position requires working across various functions (e.g. Legal, Compliance, Security, Human Resources), demonstrated networking and influencing skills are required. The successful candidate will also complete other projects as needed to support OOE priorities and objectives.

Activities and Responsibilities
The Associate Director will be independently responsible to lead or support several of the activities below. This list is not all inclusive and the Associate Director may be required to take on additional related Office of Ethics activities.

  • Plans and conducts confidential investigations of potential policy violations; identifies and conducts interviews with all relevant involved parties
  • Makes remediation recommendations and manages the remediation process working with stakeholders in Legal, Human Resources, and Management
  • Drafts detailed case report summarizing the investigation, factual findings, and remediation
  • Conducts root cause analysis and analyzes data
  • Assists the Director in identifying and reporting investigation trends to senior leadership
  • Works with stakeholders across the organization and geographic locations when required

Qualifications :

Education Minimum Requirement:

  • Bachelors Degree

Required Experience and Skills:

  • Extensive experience in problem resolution, conducting investigations, or audits
  • Advanced analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Advanced oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent presentation, networking and influencing skills
  • Extensive experience working across organizational and geographical boundaries
  • Experience responding to employee concerns and providing guidance, such as in an Ombudsman role
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and appropriately prioritize multiple cases simultaneously
  • Ability to apply knowledge of company policies and business practices to a variety of situations
  • Sophisticated understanding of compliance regulations and business ethics
  • Ability to assess the impact of an investigation on the organization and initiate action as needed
  • Ability to listen carefully and build rapport with an interviewee without losing objectivity

Preferred Experience and Skills:

  • Compliance, Legal, Quality or Audit investigation experience
  • Knowledge of and investigation experience in the Pharmaceutical Industry

Locations: Ideal preference is the incumbent is able to work from our Headquarters site in Upper Gwynedd – PA , however, we are open to Kenilworth & Rahway – NJ sites too. It is expected to be on-site for 3 days a week.
