Job Description

The Privacy Program Manager will be a member of Visa’s Global Privacy Office. You will join a Global Privacy Governance team that drives the global privacy program’s privacy compliance and oversees an number of key initiatives to drive Visa business growth.  

Essential Functions

  • Represent the Global Privacy Office as the point of contact to review products and other business initiatives for privacy impact, including conducting Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs), and answering business stakeholder privacy questions as needed
  • Assist with various programmatic initiatives such as gathering and implementing requirements for updated privacy notices, the privacy controls framework, records of processing activities, and data subject rights
  • Work with the rest of the Global Privacy Office to determine whether the privacy-related policies/processes need to be modified or developed, and drive any necessary policy/process changes
  • Assist Privacy lawyers in driving privacy program updates in anticipation of new or updated privacy laws and regulations
  • Monitor day-to-day PIA and business initiatives activities to ensure work is progressing as planned
  • Effectively and efficiently plan and prioritize all deliverables and resources working across different project(s) and stakeholders
  • Actively learn and lend acquired expertise to actively participate in different initiatives as a privacy subject matter expert
  • Consistently manage stakeholder expectations, ensure delivery of the highest quality service, and solicit and act on feedback
  • Proactively identify opportunities and deliver improvements
  • Overall, assist with various privacy governance initiatives as assigned

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:
• 5 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 2 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 0 years of work experience with a PhD

Preferred Qualifications:
• 6 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 4 or more years of relevant experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or up to 3 years of relevant experience with a PhD
• Relevant experience includes privacy governance and/or privacy operations management and/ or privacy legal experience in a global entity
• Previous experience developing or maturing a privacy program, including conducting privacy impact assessments
• Previous experience in financial services or another regulated industry
• Previous experience working as part of an in-house legal or compliance department
• One or more IAPP CIPP certification(s) a plus
• Relevant experience includes privacy governance and/or privacy operations management and/ or privacy legal experience in a global entity
• Previous experience developing or maturing a privacy program, including conducting privacy impact assessments
• Previous experience in financial services or another regulated industry
• Previous experience working as part of an in-house legal or compliance department
• One or more IAPP CIPP certification(s) a plus

This position is open to locations in Denver, CO and the Bay Area.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.
