Northrop Grumman Marine Systems – Cape Canaveral is seeking a Systems Engineer – Program Office Liaison to manage operational and technical aspects of alteration projects and serve as liaison between the customer, other government agencies, and the internal teams including program management, planning, project teams, field, logistics, and engineering. This position is an engineering role within the Launcher Program Office located at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station.
The ideal candidate demonstrates a broad skill set that is balanced between interpersonal, business, and technical capabilities. The candidate has excellent communication skills and is comfortable engaging with project stakeholders, functional teams, and both internal and external customers to achieve project goals. The candidate is committed to ethics, integrity, and innovation while challenging traditional ways of doing business.
Responsibilities include the following:
- Oversee and manage activities of assigned programs/projects.
- Act as the primary contact for both internal and external stakeholders/customers.
- Maintain and review status of project activities to ensure cost, schedule, and technical commitments are being met.
- Assess project/technical issues and develop corrective actions to meet productivity, quality, and customer satisfaction goals and objectives.
- Conduct technical analysis of product implementations, modifications and enhancements in accordance with customer specifications and design requirements.
- Lead status review sessions with internal management and customer to discuss status of project cost, schedule, and technical performance.
- Develop and maintain schedules, risk registers, lessons learned, status reports and other project documentation to document project execution and performance.
- Monitors status of procurement and production hardware for assigned projects.
This position can be filled at a Systems Engineer – Program Office Liaison level or a Principal Systems Engineer – Program Office Liaison level.
MANUMS
Basic Qualifications:
This position may be filled at higher level based on the following qualifications
- Bachelors of Science Degree with 2+ years of experience; 0 Years with Masters Degree.
OR
- Bachelors of Science Degree with 5+ years of experience; Masters Degree with 3 years of experience.
AND
- Prior experience in Program/Project Management.
- Prior experience working with cross-functional organizations (Program Office, Engineering, Manufacturing, Purchasing, Business Management, Field Operations, etc.)
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, Microsoft Project and SAP MRP (or similar) system.
- Must be a U.S. citizen with the ability to obtain a clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of TRIDENT II Launcher Subsystem and Support Equipment.
- Experience with Model Based Engineering (MBE) and Model Based System Engineering (MBSE) processes.
- Working knowledge of Earned Value Management.
- Design and operational knowledge of Navy Programs.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, leadership, and problem solving abilities.
Salary Range: $71,100 USD – $106,700 USD
Salary Range 2: $87,600 USD – $131,400 USD
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
