Job Description

The successful applicant will be a member of Visa’s Global Privacy Office and will join its Global Privacy Strategy and Operations team, helping to drive operational excellence and program improvement across Visa’s Global Privacy Program. 

 

Essential Functions:

  • Proactively identify opportunities for improvement across the program including reviewing existing processes and procedures and determining enhancements.

  • Taking program management lead for Global Privacy Office improvement projects.

  • Using metrics, produce reports for key stakeholders (to the Global Privacy Program), including Privacy leadership, risk management teams and Visa leadership.

  • Ability to influence the development of Visa’s Privacy strategy by proactively communicating, in written and oral form, key tenants of strategy to stakeholders.

  • Monitor key Privacy programmatic areas such as Privacy Impact Assessments and Data Subject Requests/Customer complaints

  • Assist with various programmatic initiatives such as gathering and implementing requirements for updated privacy notices, the privacy controls framework, records of processing activities, and data subject rights

  • Effectively and efficiently plan and prioritize all deliverables and resources working across different project(s) and stakeholders

  • Actively learn and lend acquired expertise to actively participate in different initiatives as a privacy subject matter expert

  • Consistently manage stakeholder expectations, ensure delivery of the highest quality service, and solicit and act on feedback

  • Overall, assist with various privacy operations initiatives as assigned

 

 

    Qualifications

    Basic Qualifications:

    • 5 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 2 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 0 years of work experience with a PhD

    Preferred Qualifications: 

    • 6 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 4 or more years of relevant experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or up to 3 years of relevant experience with a PhD
    • Relevant experience includes privacy governance and/or privacy operations management and/ or privacy legal experience in a global entity
    • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience
    • Privacy program management experience
    • Ability to present data to different audiences and an understanding of how data can be used to identify programmatic opportunities for improvement
    • Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and interpersonal communications skills
    • Demonstrated ability to work with and support cross-functional project teams
    • Ability to understand and document project requirements and dependencies
    • Strong people skills with proven ability to build strong working relationships with internal clients at all levels of management and work on cross-functional teams on complex issues
    • Versatility, ability to prioritize and handle a large number of matters, and ability to work effectively on a small team with significant workload
    • Understanding of business and functional requirements
    • Strong attention to detail and focus on task completion is critical
    • Previous experience developing or maturing a privacy program, including conducting privacy impact assessments
    • Previous experience in financial services, another regulated industry, or working in Technology sector
    • One or more IAPP CIPP certification(s) a plus

    Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

    Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

    Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.
