Amazon, one of the world’s leaders in e-commerce, is expanding its Retail business and looking for an enthusiastic New Vendor Manager (m/f/d) based in Munich to facilitate new partnerships in Expansion Marketplaces aiming at integrating their product portfolio into Amazon European websites.

Operating in a fast-moving and often ambiguous environment, you will need to engage in projects that will drive business growth and help shape the future of Amazon Retail in EU. We expect that you can work autonomously, think both strategically and tactically, and take full control to achieve your goals.

Key job responsibilities
As a New Vendor Manager, you will be responsible to identify, sign, and manage new vendors while building the best possible selection for our customers with the development of partnerships with new vendors in Expansion MPs. Your job will consist of prospecting, assessing, reaching out to and integrating both potential local and international vendors for Amazon. In your day-to-day job, your key responsibilities include:
• Identify, prospect and reach out to new vendors, analyze their potential for Amazon. You will drive the first steps by cold calling potential business partners, explaining advantages and benefits of partnering with Amazon and negotiating with them
• Be a strategic consultant to new vendors through understanding their needs, providing insights and advice for them to grow their business with Amazon
• Manage a portfolio of vendors across different industries, providing support as necessary. Help new vendors to integrate their catalog data into Amazon’s platform, master Amazon’s internal tools, and use these tools to drive revenue, profitability, supply chain efficiency, marketing, and customer experience.
• Own strategic or complex vendors to increase selection and help them grow in newly established marketplaces.
• Show bias for action and resourcefulness to engage with high potential vendors who are hard to contact.
• Continually raise the bar when on-boarding vendors focusing on those with highest potential and maximum customer impact.
• Proactively identify solutions and projects that help scale the new vendor business.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

For this position we expect:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, ideally within Commerce, Business Administration or a related field
  • Several years of working experience in a relevant field, i. e. vendor management, key account management, consulting, sales or similar customer facing roles
  • Basic knowledge in MS Office programs as Outlook and Excel
  • Fluent English language skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Further qualifications would be a plus:

  • Strong analytical abilities and quantitative skills
  • Proven experience in vendor negotiations, pricing and promotion, inventory management, and product development
  • Hands-on mentality: You need to get used to picking up the phone multiple times daily and calling a prospect or potential partner
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks – prioritization, planning and time management
  • Ability to influence and make an impact internally and externally
  • Swedish, Dutch, Polish, Belgian or other European language skills
