Job summary
In the AWS Startups team, we aim to be the most startup-centric technology choice on earth. Our mission is to enable and support startups to accelerate their businesses growth and increase their potential for success, by maximizing the value of what AWS can offer.

Since its establishment in ANZ two years ago, our startup sales segment has proven to be one of the most exciting and high growth segments in the business, and we are now seeking an additional Account Manager to join the team and continue to drive exceptional performance.

In this role, you will help drive the growth of high-potential early, mid, and late stage startups. Your responsibilities will include driving revenue and user adoption, migrations, and ensuring new startups select AWS as their primary cloud provider.

You will align closely with counterparts in business development, marketing, solution architecture and partner teams to lead execution of coordinated go-to-market strategies and sales plays. You will also work closely with business development teams who are driving strategic support, global co-programming, and portfolio engagement to help drive top-of-funnel customer acquisition and accelerate seller cycles in the field. We are seeking an individual who has proven experience in delivering results in a fast paced and high growth environment.

This role will give you incredible exposure at the heart of latest trends like artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML), serverless and IoT. Your customers leverage state-of-the-art technologies on AWS to innovate and become the next disrupters, like today’s Netflex, Slack, Canva, and Atlassian. You are passionate about startups and a self-starter with entrepreneurial spirit who is prepared to work in a fast-paced environment, execute against ambitious goals and consistently embrace the Amazon Culture.

The role is open in Melbourne, Australia with light domestic travel expected (subject to Covid-19 guidance).

Key job responsibilities

  • Drive revenue growth within your market through strong identification and qualification of growth customers
  • Work with your team (inside sales/demand generation and solution architect) to execute sales plays relevant to your segment
  • Develop and report on a territory plan and account plans for strategic accounts
  • Understand and articulate AWS value proposition and AWS services
  • Engage founders, CxO, VC influences and boards to accelerate their adoption of AWS services
  • Identify partners that can assist coverage within your portfolio and increase adoption
  • Deliver an outstanding customer experience

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

* 5+ years of technology related sales expereince
Passion for startups, understanding the local ecosystems and experience working within the segment
Experience at both technical and executive levels in startups/software companies and/or digital businesses
Ability to influence and enable internal and external stakeholders
Entrepreneurial “builder” mentality
Exceptional communication skills, verbal and written
Working knowledge of data analysis and reporting through salesforce and tableau
* Exposure and working knowledge of selling cloud technology

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience developing and executing leading go to market programs
  • A technical background in engineering, computer science, or MIS
  • Balance of strong qualification and prioritisation skills to quickly assess the opportunity within the portfolio
  • Analytical abilities to not just look at the numbers, but identify the underlying drivers for business performance.
