Job summary
The US Jewelry & Watches team is looking for a talented, experienced, and entrepreneurial Senior Vendor Manager to own Amazon’s relationship with the industry’s largest brands. Direct responsibilities will include managing a portfolio of vendor relationships, owning the corresponding profit and loss statements, negotiating contracts, expanding product selection, widening the existing vendor base, and driving both financial and operational improvements.

The candidate must have a successful track record of multi-dimensional problem solving, analytical thinking, attention to detail, and effective time management. Strong leadership and communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential as the candidate will interface the industry’s most important leaders.

Successful individuals in this role will:

• Think of themselves as business owners, who cultivate a deep understanding of all major inputs that drive long term out performance (selection, price, availability, forecasting, operational excellence, marketing mix, etc)
• Maximize Amazon’s flywheel by focusing on selection expansion and cost saving opportunities
• Negotiate effectively with the industry’s largest vendors – manage supplier contracts, Annual Vendor Negotiation (AVN) strategy, marketing, and day-to-day relationships
• Work with PMs to develop innovative ways of launching new features that improve the customer experience
• Develop a thorough understanding for the industry, its trends, and future trajectory
• Communicate effectively across all levels of leadership, both internally and externally
• Submit high quality work within tight deadlines

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 5+ years experience in Account Management, Project/Program Management, or Buying
  • Experience using data to influence business decisions
  • Experience driving internal cross-team collaboration
  • 5+ years in buying, account management, product management, financial analysis, marketing
  • Proven negotiating skills, influencing abilities, and relationship management experience
  • Strong organizational skills including prioritizing, scheduling, and time management
  • Detail-oriented
  • Strong analytic skills and 2+ years using Excel in a professional environment

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • MBA or equivalent graduate level degree
  • Proven analytical skills and highly numerate
  • Technical aptitude and ability/willingness to learn web-based tools and interact with SQL
