Who You Are:

The Sr. Director Supply Chain provides management and leadership for the Supply Chain organization by directing the relationships and processes for execution of the Supply Chain vision. This position ensures that operation of the people, equipment, and processes are compliant and meet the regulatory requirements. This includes leading programs to improve employee safety, improve quality, increase efficiencies, reduce costs, and increase employee engagement as per established goals. This position also plays a key role in development and implementation of the Supply Chain management team strategic vision, driving a quality mindset, teamwork across all functions, and people and team development to reach the goal of Operational Excellence for the site.

The Sr. Director Supply Chain is an active member of the Industrial Leadership Team (ILT) and Global Vaccine Supply Chain Leadership Team (VSCLT) and drives U.S. Operations Planning, International Planning, Quality Planning, Unlicensed Product Planning, Inter-site planning, Warehouse & Logistics operations, International Customer Service and Product line coordination responsibility for Meninge, Fluzone and COVID products. The role is responsibe for ensuring the network efficiency by managing and setting up inter-site flows from and to Swiftwater and is accountable for the service level of the site balanced with asset utilization and inventory.

Where We Are:

Swiftwater is located in Monroe county, Pennsylvania about 90 miles west of New York and less than 12 miles from the New Jersey Border. The Swiftwater site is Sanofi Pasteur’s US headquarters shared by Commercial Operations, R&D, Regulatory Affairs and the Industrial Operation teams. The 500-plus acre campus consists of 40 buildings and 14 modular buildings, housing more than 3,000 employees, including nearly 1,850 employees in Industrial Operations. The Site is located in the beautiful Pocono Mountains, affordable Northeastern Pennsylvania with convenient highway access.

Job Highlights:

  • Drive the successful strategic positioning of Sanofi Vaccines U.S. operational resources to support the Rolling and 10 Year Global Forecast System, financial growth plan, and identified market upside opportunities in a manner which maximizes business opportunities and minimizes risk and exposure
  • Represent Industrial Operations function and Supply Chain process as member of the Global S&OP process. Ensure integration of operational capabilities to support Business and Franchise direction in the S&OP, LRP and LTIP horizons. Lead the site RES-M process and align and coordinate with the product Line 360 process for PMED, ACEL and Flu for continuity thru the IA S&OP process.
  • Within the Sanofi Vaccines Global Management Scheme, serve as a member of the Vaccine Supply Chain Leadership Team (VSCLT) representing the Sanofi Vaccines U.S. Industrial Operations group, the U.S. Logistics function, and the commercial business units. This group is charged with establishing, implementing, and executing the strategic direction of the Sanofi Vaccines supply chain. Supply Chain liaison for SWR along with other Sanofi Vaccines sites for inter-site flows, where applicable, and the Sanofi distribution network to support customer satisfaction.
  • Lead and Develop Supply Chain Team. Provide leadership, direction and support for all functions within the Supply Chain Management and Industrial Logistics organization referenced in the Position Summary. Ensure alignment of activities and direction to support IO business objectives for Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, Involvement and Strategic direction. Work with staff to enhance competency levels and continued development of the individual and sanofi values and culture. Set up the appropriate functions and organization to support the company strategy thru the LTIP horizon.
  • Direct the IA monthly Supply Review and support IA Capability review to support BU Sales and Operations Planning process for Sanofi Vaccines and Sanofi, as needed. Contribute to the annual and Long Range Planning (LRP) and processes for U.S. Product Planning, International Product Planning, Product Team Planning, Inter-site Planning and Quality Planning.
  • Develop and set up physical and financial flows for SWR products being further manufactured or finished in other BU or other CMO locations.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BS or MS required in Life Sciences, Engineering, or Management.
  • 15+ years large scale biotech or pharmaceutical manufacturing and supply chain strategy, logistics and warehouse experience
  • The individual should have worked with Operations personnel for at least 8 years in a management position with increasing levels of responsibility and have a good understanding of current GMP/GLP, Continuous Improvement methodologies, and common issues addressed to achieve Operational Excellence.
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as the ability to actively, and cooperatively work with cross functional teams.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Masters level degree or MBA with solid business training, is desirable.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

  • Approximately 10-30% travel for site visits, vendor relationship management, global alignment, conferences and training.
