Amazon

Our mission: To be Earth's most customer-centric company.

DESCRIPTION

Job summary
Amazon is seeking an experienced program manager to help lead and scale community engagement programs across North America. We’re looking for a self-motivated professional with community, communications, and/or employee engagement experience to join the global Operations Community Engagement Team.

At Amazon, we believe success and scale bring broad responsibility. This means our local communities, planet, and future generations need us to be better every day. The Operations Community Engagement team manifests this by creating philanthropic tools and programs that generate lasting, positive impact in communities where Amazon has an operational footprint.

In this role, you’ll create and manage a complex range of activities that drive community partnerships, volunteer activations, employee engagement campaigns, and charitable donations across multiple site types and locations. This will require cultivating trustworthy relationships with site leaders, partner teams, internal stakeholders, and community organizations and nonprofits. We’re looking for someone with a track record of delivering results for large-scale projects and the ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic organization. We need a strategic, creative thinker who can plan for the long term, as well as execute the day-to-day tasks of a broad community program. Having a passion for social good is imperative and an understanding of employee engagement is important.

This position can be based out of Seattle, WA; Nashville, TN; Austin, TX; Los Angeles, CA; Arlington, VA; or New York, NY and will deliver community programs across multiple Operations site types and locations. Routine presence at Amazon sites will be expected and travel may be required up to 30 percent. In addition, collaboration will be required with other North America and global teams, therefore you must excel at coordinating closely with local and global colleagues.

  • Manage strategic communications, write effective content, and deliver program information to internal and external audiences.
  • Build support with senior leaders and advise teams on effective community engagement.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional partner teams including internal communications, public relations, public policy, human resources, and legal.
  • Track key performance indicators and write reports that summarize metrics and results.
  • Capture lessons learned, be curious about new approaches, and research opportunities to continuously improve program tactics.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3+ years experience in program or project management
  • Experience using data and metrics to drive improvements
  • Experience working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams
  • Experience managing community, corporate social responsibility (CSR), or employee engagement programs.

  • Ability to clearly and concisely articulate ideas, goals, proposals, procedures, and program plans in writing to broad audiences.
  • Experience defining program requirements and building repeatable, scalable processes.
  • Ability to influence without authority, across all levels of a diverse organization.
  • Experience creating enewsletters, written reports, playbooks, and other internal communication products.
  • Experience operating with a great deal of independence in a lean, fast-moving organization.
  • Experience learning and adopting new collaboration and project management software platforms.
