Job summary
Leading a team of business developers to recruit new vendors for Amazon’s Retail business in Europe presents a unique challenge. You will have to operate in a fast-moving and often ambiguous environment, with full responsibility for achieving business objectives, and engage in projects that will drive growth and help shape the future of Amazon Retail in France. We expect that you can work autonomously, think both strategically and tactically and take full control of achieving your goals. As a people manager, you will be in charge of driving team performance as well as individual development. You will be responsible for a sub-set of categories and will be the key point of contact for senior stakeholders, identifying areas for future growth. It will also be up to you to identify ways to automate and simplify current processes and to increase productivity. As an Amazon leader, you will be a role-model for all Leadership Principles; in particular you will be someone who can Deliver Results, Dive Deep and will be excellent at Hiring and Developing the Best.

As the “Head of Vendor Management, New Vendor Recruitment FR”, you will:
-Manage a team of Vendor Managers / Business Developers.
-Drive the on-boarding of new vendors and the creation of new selection in the French marketplace.
-Engage in high-level conversations with Amazon vendors.
-Lead pan-European projects to raise performance levels throughout the entire organization.
-Drive process improvements that will enable RVR to scale further.
-Report on on-boarding and selection creation performance to senior category leaders.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Fluent in French and English.
  • Educated to at least degree level.
  • Demonstrated track record in sales and negotiation; a minimum of 3 years’ experience in management consulting, account management, or retail buying/selling.
  • Experience in and passion for people management.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with a wide range of people at all decision-making levels up to and including senior leaders.
  • At ease with the Microsoft Office suite.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Extensive experience in people management.
  • Experience with e-commerce or retail.
