This role falls under the Global Banking Modernization (GBM) program team, which is responsible for the global roll-out of the new strategic Payments and Core Banking / Cash platforms for the organization. This is one of the largest active programs in State Street and carries a high degree of risk and impact as we modernize our underlying technologies, implement near-term regulatory changes like ISO20022 adoption, and deliver significant additional business benefit and capabilities to the organization and to our clients.

This role can be performed in a hybrid or fully remote model within the US, where you can balance work from home and office to match your needs and role requirements.

What you will be responsible for

As a GBM Implementation Lead, you will provide leadership and direction across business, product, and multiple IT application teams to implement workstream releases. This includes:

  • Acting as primary representative facing off with GBM program leadership for assigned program pillar/workstream(s)
  • Keeping abreast of industry trends and best practices (technology and/or business) in order to deliver the most effective and competitive solutions to business areas
  • Participating in strategy development and contributing to strategic planning with business client and senior systems management
  • Directing, implementing, coordinating with Business, Product, and IT verticals to execute various releases within assigned pillar/workstream(s), including contracts/commercials, scope and requirements, project sequencing and planning, solution design, development, testing, conversion, and post-conversion support and monitoring of application software
  • Assigning responsibilities, identifying and obtaining needed resources, and creating/managing project plans to ensure timely completion of projects; includes proper sequencing of tasks, clear interim milestones, identification of pre-requisites/dependencies, etc.
  • Ensuring that budgets, schedules, and performance standards are realistically set and attained
  • Working with GBM PMO to implement effective communications and status reporting of pillar/workstream activities at regular intervals to executive management and impacted program/project teams
  • Coordinating systems development and support activities for multiple applications and projects; recommending improvements to the systems development process as needed
  • Solutioning impediments with stakeholders, driving project progress and decisions, escalating risks/issues, and implementing project changes to achieve program goals

Education & Preferred Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in relevant business/technical major
  • Experience in leading large scale, global projects across multiple business lines and corporate functions
  • Detailed functional experience and business/industry knowledge, broad company knowledge, information technology background, and financial acumen
  • Strong hands-on experience in working with large vendors and internal teams to deliver strategic IT solutions
  • 10+ years of relevant industry experience across financial services and technology
