Principal Solution Architect – A highly proactive relationship manager with the ability to provide high-level technical guidance, design and delivery to project teams and customers. The Principal Solution Architect has a strong understanding of the FinancialForce Accelerate methodology and the confidence to recommend architectural best practices. They possess a deep knowledge of the FinancialForce product and roadmap and can make it digestible for our customer’s business users.

They should have an expert level understanding of how FinancialForce products operate within theSalesForce.com cloud infrastructure. This individual should have strong knowledge of the foundational setup of FinancialForce applications to ensure optimal scalability and performance.

Key to this role is being able to provide clearly documented client solutions; Identify gaps, opportunities, and remedies in short order. They need to be an excellent presenter and creative thinker with the ability to troubleshoot issues quickly and effectively.

The Principal Solution Architect can represent customer requirements and to effectively communicate these requirements and design to the implementation teams (FinancialForce and Partner). This role will collaborate with Architects in other areas of the business, such as Support, Engineering and Product Development to share trends from the design phase and influence best practice.

They will be called upon to ensure excellent communication, confirm the design and delivery of projects and collaborate to ensure plans of action are put in place to remediate any gaps between requirements and design. This individual must have an ability to resolve a variety of technical and relationship hurdles. They will need to provide proactive communication at all levels within the customer environment, up to and including executive updates.

This individual will also need to build strong working relationships with our implementation partners to make sure that they are aware of our best practices, provide solution collaboration, and communicate our product roadmap so that they can benefit our shared customers.

The Principal Solution Architect is considered a lead role that will work closely with other leaders within the PS organization.


  • Proactively lead the technical and functional relationship with our customers
  • Conceptualize, develop, communicate, and propose solutions that will drive our growth and lead directly to top and bottom-line results.
  • Collaborate with our Professional Services Engagement Management Team and our EMEA Sales Executives to engage customers early, provide technical expertise and guidance from the start of the customer journey through to guiding implementation strategy.
  • Work with customers in both a long-lead and tactical capacity to help solve their critical needs and challenges throughout the design and implementation phases of their customer journey
  • Get involved in the detailed technical discussions; speak up and provide solutions
  • Provide best practices and out of the box solutions to our customers
  • Facilitate client solution reviews and identify any gaps and issues
  • On occasion, assist the recruitment process, train and mentor Senior/Lead Architects


  • Significant experience working in enterprise Professional Services Automation (PSA) system implementations or Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system implementations
  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • Ability to work independently, managing time and managing technical projects in fast changing, team environment
  • Ability to lead others on technical approaches
  • Strong computer skills ideally including SalesForce.com, FinancialForce, MS Office and web presentation tools
  • Strong software implementation experience
  • Relevant degree or equivalent experience
