Global Resource Manager

Siemens Industry Software is seeking a Global Resource Manager to lead the global community of practice for resource management reporting to the VP global service operations. Our ability to staff projects with the right resources in the shortest possible time is central to enabling customers realizing value from our solutions.

We are extremely fortunate to have over 2,500 delivery professionals across the globe covering a comprehensive portfolio of solutions across multiple industries. Successfully delivering customer outcomes is directly related to deploying the right teams with the right skills. In addition, providing a rewarding work experience for our professionals is directly related to placing them in projects that allows them to be successful, learn and grow their skills. Finally, achieving our Billable Utilization target is the single largest driver of services margins. Effectively allocating our resources to achieve successful outcomes for our customers, our professionals and our business is the job of our Resource Management Teams. In this context, it is critical that we build a strong and effective Resource Management Community that is empowered with best practice tools and processes for capacity planning, demand management, project staffing and global collaboration. Given its importance, we have been investing to strengthen our Resource Management Community with tools (NGSA) and professional development (RMI Certification). This new position is continuing this investment by opening a position for a Global Resource Management Community Lead.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop a strong, empowered, and effective Resource Management Community globally
  • Represent the RM Community within the NGSA Core Team to define and adopt best practices for capacity planning, demand management, project staffing and global collaboration
  • Partner with GLaD to build and deliver high quality Resource Management Professional Development/Certification Programs
  • Drive initiatives to improve the quality of resource allocation to achieve better outcomes for customers, professionals, and our business
  • Enable global collaboration to ensure we staff projects globally while achieving our billable utilization targets

Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required:

  • Bachelors: computer science, engineering, business, marketing or sales preferred
  • MBA or similar advanced degree desirable
  • RMI certification desirable
  • Familiarity with resource automation systems and software
  • Proven collaboration skills
  • Executive presence: ability to work across a range of interpersonal styles
  • Strong communication, influencing and analytical skills
  • Familiarity with forecasting processes and tools
  • Demonstrates a good professional know-how of core, global Project and Program Management practices and standards
  • Understands the principles of Engagement Management, account planning, opportunity management, services positioning, contracting and pricing
  • Demonstrates a thorough professional know-how in people management, based on practical, demonstrable experience within own management role
  • Ability to apply people management knowledge to short term business challenges within own area of scope and control, and provides valid contribution to solving business challenges that span across multiple functions within a country or region
  • Experienced in the elements of business standards, compliance & ethics relevant to own role and systematic collection of detailed data.
  • Demonstrates a keen understanding of basic business operations and the organizational levers (systems, processes, departments, functions) that drive sustainable profitable growth; draws from personal experience to quickly evaluate business plans and processes to identify data or recommendations that need further investigation
  • Location of role is flexible, but working time zones EST to CET preferable
