At Amazon finance partners are more than just the team that reports numbers and provides controllership. Finance actively partners with the Ocean leadership team to drive the business, understand drivers, look around corners, and attain our growth and profitability goals. You will work collaboratively across a matrix organization to define, develop, and implement new product launches, as well as have full P&L and capex ownership for the business. Ability to manage the expectations of our leadership team, our stakeholders, customers, as well as members of your finance team is paramount.
This role partners closely with a broad range of global finance and country leaders, product teams, technology teams, and FP&A. This role designs, develops, and maintains performance measurements and reports on strategic input drivers to continuously improve the economics and scalability of the business. Driving projects to continuously increase Ocean market penetration, optimize on price plus cost, and improve selection and placement of inventory are paramount to this role.
Key job responsibilities
- Full P&L ownership of the Ocean business (projections, optimization, month-end close, controllership).
- Drive the development of and support the execution of key input metrics and financial targets through the implementation of proactive dashboards, ongoing reporting, measurements, and variance analysis.
- Create effective business partnerships, manage competing priorities, and provide guidance based on data analysis managing through non-expected events.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- BA or BS in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or a highly analytical field (e.g., Engineering, Math, Computer Science)
- 5+ years of finance experience, or Master’s degree and 3+ years of finance experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- MBA or other commensurate advanced degree
- Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, Tableau, PowerBI, Essbase, Cognos)
- Experience in large matrixed corporations
- Demonstrated effective communication and presentation skills working with multiple peer groups and senior levels of management
- Previous experience within a Manufacturing, Distribution Center, or Logistics supply chain
