Job summary
Amazon seeks a Financial Analyst to be a key member in our Devices finance team. This is an exciting opportunity to join one of the most innovative and fast growing businesses of Amazon in a role where you will have regular interaction with executives and various business units across the organization.
The successful candidate will be a self-starter with strong data collection and modeling capabilities, a keen attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple projects effectively.
The role also requires regular interaction with various business teams, and includes supporting the online devices business teams. The role provides reporting and business support for decision making and ability to influence decisions through effective logical reasoning and the presentation of alternatives/scenarios.
This role can be based in Amazon offices in: Seattle, WA; Arlington, VA; Sunnyvale, CA; or Los Angeles, CA.
Key job responsibilities
- Presenting financial summaries and business insights to senior management
- Developing scalable and efficient financial processes that support the business
- Deriving meaningful insights and recommendations from large data sets
- Tracking initiatives that span multiple business functions
- Leading ad hoc financial analyses and supporting the financial planning process
- Coordinating and supporting planning and month-end close processes
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of experience in finance or a related analytical field.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Track record of working with business owners to develop and define key business questions and build data sets that answer those questions
- Strengths in attention to detail, project management skills and the ability to successfully manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Confident analytical and communication skills with an ability to articulate complex financial views to business teams
- Ability to work quickly and accurately in an ambiguous environment
- Advanced Excel & business modeling skills (pivot tables, Index-matches, Macros, etc.)
- Knowledge of SQL, Cognos and Essbase
- MBA or equivalent is helpful, but not required
