Overview

This role reports to the Principal Audit Manager (PAM) for Investment Bank – Sales and Trading in New York, who in turn reports to the Chief Auditor for Investment Bank. You would support the PAM in the audit coverage of US sales and trading businesses specifically credit, rates, foreign exchange (FX) and emerging markets trading. You will work with management and staff within Group Audit to deliver audits owned by the Investment Bank audit team. You will also provide participation in other audits owned outside of the Investment Bank audit team, as part of ‘front to back’ audit reviews.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Proactively leads or participates in day-to-day audit work, including audit planning, fieldwork, and reporting; tracks and validates closure of internal audit issues and regulatory observations
  • Completes business risk assessments and contribute to the annual audit planning process
  • Works on ad hoc projects including methodology enhancements and regulatory inquiries
  • Pro-actively develops and maintains professional working relationships with colleagues, the Investment Bank in the US and respective support areas; work in an integrated manner with fellow team members both locally and globally
  • Completes all work assignments on a timely basis including planned audits, ad hoc projects, and special investigations, and communicates openly with Group Audit management and internal stakeholders, keeping all informed of potential issues and escalating problems/delays accordingly
  • Keeps abreast of pertinent industry and regulatory trends

Your Skills and Experience:

  • Undergraduate or equivalent degree required; advanced degrees and relevant professional certifications (e.g., CIA, CFA, etc.) preferred but not required
  • Relevant experience in an internal audit role, covering investment banking (sales and trading) products, excellent written & verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels within Group Audit and with stakeholders; big 4 audit or accounting experience is a plus
  • Flexible, pro-active, self-sufficient with the ability and willingness to work in a high-pressure environment and deliver under tight deadlines, with a desire for personal development of core skills (technical expertise and soft skills)
  • Sound audit knowledge and experience with an understanding of the risks and regulatory requirements relating to investment banking
  • Firm commitment to maintaining the highest professional and ethical standards and the ability to stand your ground when challenged
