Sr. Accountant, Inventory Accounting

The Senior Accountant – Inventory Accounting will fill a key role within the Finance organization with accounting, reporting, and variance analysis of key business initiatives along with ongoing operations within the global operations. This role will be supporting the launch of a new business, setting up inventory SKUs, monitoring purchase price variance, reviewing inventory transactions and reconciling accounts. This role will also support our liquidation team with sell off of obsolete inventory. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support supply chain initiatives which deliver value to Asurion and assurances that these benefits are driven into the P&L in a timely manner
  • Provide financial and operational driver analytical insights in helping drive Supply Chain operations success
  • Responsible for setting up SKUs, accounts, process flows and analysis of inventory activities associated with a new line of business
  • Support liquidation team with the sell of obsolete inventory, this includes creation of sales orders, tracking of inventory and reporting
  • Provide ad-hoc analysis as needed to help business partners make better decisions in a timely manner
  • Use accounting concepts and internal company policies to assure internal controls
  • Use various reporting tools and analysis techniques to turn complex data into accurate and relevant information for end users
  • Prepare/Create inventory dashboard reports on a weekly/monthly basis
  • Interact positively and pro-actively between international departments to promote a global team work philosophy
  • Coordinate flow of information and assimilate data necessary to prepare required reporting
  • Promote the company’s Core Values and adherence to those values

What You’ll Bring to the Team:

  • A proven track record of academic and professional excellence
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance, MBA /CPA/CMA viewed favorably
  • 2-3 years’ experience in a high growth or transformational environment with similar responsibilities
  • Hands-on style with ability to dig into details
  • Proficient in Excel
  • A high attention to detail required
  • Microsoft Dynamics experience viewed favorably
  • Data entry experience viewed favorably
  • Strong organizational and planning skills
